It's a been a long time guys. I'm back. Miss me?

I couldn't disagree more with posters saying that Moses is worth the same amount of $$ as Brooks or that Brooks is a better overall player.

Moses comes across as all about himself and isn't the most likeable bloke but his football is light years ahead of Brooks. Lets not forget that Brooks has had an extra 18 months in the top grade.

At the back end of last year, Moses showed that he is capable of leading a team around the park and able to dominate teams week-to-week in the right, settled environment. This year our club has been a basket case and he hasn't been able to show that consistency but neither has Brooks.

So for people to say that we're better off with Brooks who has shown he is characterised by more brain explosions then Benji Marshall, let alone control a football team week-to-week is seriously mind-blowing.

Funny how the player who people were calling to play SOO and even predicting would come close to last years Dally M is now no longer good enough to be at out basket case of a club.

He isn't very likeable but at the end of the day as long as his team mates like him i couldn't care less. I hope he back flips because i now have confidence that if he was to stay, we would be getting him at the right price under Cleary.

Mate people are just upset at what appeared to be an immature reaction on his part (the release request).

I was pretty annoyed at him, but now I think the main priority is getting something decided quickly so we can move on, with or without the players in question including Mitch.

There is a fair bit of cash that other clubs are willing to pay, and I don't want us to get in a bidding war with a decent looking open market and the opportunity to hit reset.

Hell, I was annoyed with him, the way he was ready to throw the towel in and chase bigger bucks. I got even more annoyed when Moses and Tedesco considered leaving the Tigers because they wanna play finals footy with a winning team. We all get annoyed at players and we probably don't even have the right to, but at the end of the day it shouldn't take away from who they are as a player, regardless of their personalities and priorites off the field.

If we can secure Moses on what he's actually worth then I'll be happy, but at this point I'm also happy to chase after some of the players coming off contract at the end of the year. Once all these contracts are settled hopefully we can get on with the rest of the year.

I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but pulling Moses's deal was quite clever. If Ted and Aaron want Mitch to stay with the team, they effectively have to

- sign this week
- look at the cap space they are chewing up.

I don't think it will have much of an effect, but it makes it absolutely crystal clear what they have to do to all stay together. I know Ted on his radio interview said 'I don't know why we can't all stay' or something to that effect.

I don't mind if Mitch stays or not, but I like that Ted and aaron might have some added incentive to make a decision quickly.

Cleary gave Isaac a wedgie!

I really think it's weird too that Mitch is happy to go to Parramatta as they turned him down when he was younger… Why would you help a club that didn't believe in you early in your career?

Good post Tony - agree wholeheartedly.

I still think it would be good to keep Moses. I was one who thought and still does - that he could become anything. Plenty of names being bandied around as replacements, most imo are pie in the sky. The others are not as good as Moses.

I think we should be careful not to cut our noses off to spite our face. If we have a chance to keep him then we should at least attempt it. I think his signing with Parramatta and requesting a release was a brain snap or his managers brain snap.

He is worth more than Brooks in my opinion and supposedly he is on 650k now, so I would go to 700k and that is it. On the bus or off the bus, the decision would be his if he has indeed back flipped from Parramatta.

Guess we will know soon enough.

Having Brooks and Moses in the team makes it extremely difficult for our opponents. Against the Dragons, Moses was targeted because LJL provided little threat on the left.

Is this tongue-in-cheek? Lack Jittlelon played on the weekend and we scored 26\. Broses played Rds 2-4 and we scored 2, 6, 14.

Also Broses both on the paddock make it very easy for our opponents to target weaknesses in defence.

For me there's not much consistency, that's the issue. Rd 1 was great, last week was good - how to distill those performances and weed out the poor ones.

JLJ has played 13 games, won 6 for us. Not so bad for a backup.

Moses has to go now that Brooks has re-signed. They both want full control of the team and they can't achieve that when they are both playing.

Brooks v Rabbits last year was probably his best game. Moses ruled out minutes before kickoff and Brooks completely lead the team around, for a great win.

They're a stable club on and of the field and always make the 8.
:roll

JLJ also made 26 tackles last week. Have our halves ever made 26 tackles? For a decent fill-in, he is perfect. We cant have a huge defensive liability's in Brooks and Moses, but 1 we can manage.

A huge step in leading this team on the right track was to have 2 solid defensive centres which Idris and Suli fit the bill perfectly with the big bodies.

I'd be happy for Littlejohn to keep the job as long as he keeps improving, which he will as he gains more NRL experience. He's a decent size and not as easily trampled as the the other two.

Also, their ex-CEO is up on fraud charges with other former employees being investigated by the police.

I have been hoping that we would not retain both Brooks and Moses going forward. They don't combine well together and they are both turnstiles in defence. Based on the reported offers, I think Brooks represents better value for money.

Guys I am sure we would have kept Moses at the Tigers if he was realistic in his asking price.

Asking for just shy of $1M a year? That's proper superstar money.
Moses is a long way from that status.

TBH I was more liking the way the tigers were gonna line up for 2018 without Moses or woods. Better roster options on the open market then those 2 wannabe cap space hogging merchants. Hope he backflips on the backflip

When it comes to cap management we are better off without these two.

Pretty well agree as well, though a bit disappointed with his start to the season I also remember his form when last in negotiations and hope it is similarly caused. Wrote in another thread about his family pressures and advice etc and don't blame much of this on the kid, particularly when from reports Brooks was also held back in signing despite wanting to.

Many are forgetting that we finished last season a win outside the eight and did so at the height of the Farah rumblings, with Brooks also out and then hobbling upon an early return after Tedesco being taken out. Sure, we did not get that required win and our playmakers did not produce, but we were torn down the guts and they could do little to turn that around.

Even this year, despite some shellackings, we have been the better side for good parts of those games, creating many opportunities without capitalising on them through poor finishing. Basically, I still think we have a decent side and provided this contract drama is sorted shortly, don't think our season is over at all.

Did you see Sterling's reaction when he was informed Brooks was out of the Dragons' game? Pretty much as expected the Dragons shut Moses down and our attack was non existent. LJL had no spark.

Yes LJL is strong defensively (to a point) but when the ball heads to the left who provides the threat? While LJL can defend, didn't he slide off the JT tackle which resulted in a try and then let Hess get to the ball in the in goal for another? No half is perfect and each brings strengths and weaknesses. If this had been Brooks many would be all over him. Ash Taylor was steamrolled at least once by Papali for a try on the weekend.

Broses bring more collectively to the team than can LJL. That is reflected in the number of clubs he has been to without success.

Are you writing LJL in purpose? I have to ask, I had a dig at you about it, you have continued undeterred.

I agree JLJ is pretty uninspiring. The only point I was making is Tigers have been inept in attack with Broses on the field, and also they have scored a good number of points with Moses+JLJ.

I absolutely agree you want to focus points for attack, my primary concern at this time is the consistency, it's all well and good to have two good halves if that's only in theory, if they cannot string performances together on the field.
