It's a been a long time guys. I'm back. Miss me?

You know what fellas,Ivan gets the job at the WTs and all of a sudden the great Smoking Gun appears with info from nowhere…where was his insight 2 years ago when we were being annihilated by the other NRL teams..I do hope his MAIL is right but I'm just curious why he makes a cameo appearance out of nowhere just after JT gets the arse..I really don't care about the great 4,if Ivan gets rid of them and replaces them with NRL quality workhorses then that's well and good ,I'm completely over hyped up non performing potential and their wanker manager..,GO IVAN and GO THE MIGHTY WESTS TIGERS..

Lawrence was still ok initially post injury. Remember the game against saints late 2011? We were down in the second half, then scored 2 long range tries through Lawrence breaks down the left.

Anyone saying he didn't earn his Australian jersey either has a short memory or wasn't watching footy from 2008-2011\. The game was brilliant in attack and sound in defence. He was the most complete center in the game.

Please fill me in, I am only 12 so don't know much of previous players.

What happened to Lawrence?

Dislocated a hip several years back… Never been the same since

Except for when he played for Australia AFTER the hip injury in career best form.

Drives me mad that people forget taht and blindly say it was the hip.

I'm with the others, I'm afraid. I know he played for Australia after his injury but he was lucky to get selected. There were a few centres out and Sheens was coach. He wasn't much good.

Thats not correct. He came back and played some great footy post hip injury, with genuine speed. A game against the Dragons comes to mind.

It was leg muscle injuries (hammies from memory) that ended up restricting his speed. My recollection is, admittedly, that at the time those injuries were attributed to his prior hip injury.

Did the hip injury make him more vulnerable to soft tissue injuries?

That might be fair question.

Whatever the case I think it's sad that he is still playing first grade in this terrible state. He almost looks disabled at times out there. I mean at times it looks painful for him to run sideways or play the ball properly. He is completely beat up and wouldn't make another NRL team.

He was only involved in one of them - basically ran a good line and set up Ryan. Did his hamstring in the process.
He was a mixed bag late in 2011 - the Aus jersey was definitely for his body of work rather than his immediate form (plus there was the usual run of withdrawals from the tour).

I'd hate to be in Ivan's shoes if he happens to re-sign all 4 TT…

Is Alex Glenn on our radar SG? Geez I'd love it if we could pick him up - he's always playing off the bench at the Broncos. He's be guaranteed a run on spot here if that's what he was looking for.

Alex Glenn has resigned with the broncos

Lawrence after the hip injury did a hammie every time he tried to punch out his old speed. It was all related to the dislocation.

Had to deal with being slower then most seconds rowers soon after which led to him being a defensive liability at center. Pre injury i thought he was fine in defense.

Credit to him for soldering on being ok in the 2nd row. I would have made him captain over woods.

I don't think that's gonna be an issue fwiw. WT will keep 2 maybe 3\. From what I've heard Cleary isn't going to put that much of the cap in those 4 that has been reported. And all will be coming off contract at different times as well. It looks like they will give teddy what he wants and to some degree Moses as well. Woods and brooks will have to accept less dollars to what they were offered last year to stay now.

I don't think so. He said he wants to stay, but the Broncos haven't yet tabled an offer, so officially he is still off contract at the end of this season. I know it's a long shot for us to sign him, but he would add some much needed starch to our pack.

I agree Teddy is the priority..the contract lengths were going to be split .Not talking about Dollars talking about whether or not they are wanted now and If that's the case with the other 3 and Ivan doesn't want them why offer anything at all.. even more cap could then be directed into bolstering the pack and to a lesser extent outside backs..

If Ivan does want them with some astute buys in the pack he will be able to get the best out of them..

Would rather it be Moses having his contract length and price adjusted.

That's not gonna happen I believe. Him and tedescos offers will remain. Tedesco on about 925k and Moses 765k per year. Tedesco management want a 5 year deal in place minimum though. Moses is a 3 year offer with player option of 4th

You are an idiot..stop posting garbage. You were wrong last time and you are wrong again.
Do you just make crap up? You got caught out badly last time and again as i said you are wrong.

''RUMOUR: From a close quite reliable source - Moses to Dogs, done deal and will be announced within a month to distance the announcement from Cleary announcement….contracts about to be signed to be continued.... - BWTF hopes this rumour is wrong!''

There is no way the Dogs would sign Moses before finding out what Foran wants to do. Also, why would the Dogs care about Cleary, they would announce it as soon as they can.

The Dogs have no interest in Moses or Brooks.

Well, here's hoping Teddy at least does re-sign. Would like to see Woods and Moses re-sign as well though

Chris Lawrence was the best centre to ever play for the Wests Tigers, it is true that he still had the majority of his speed post the hip dislocation but he then continued to tear his hamstring which was related to the hip injury. His dislocation was horrific and took a long time to be put back into place. I also suspect that his dislocation resulted in Hip Osteonecrosis (Femoral Head Bone Death). Chris deserves a lot more respect than he receives on this forum, he suffered this injury playing for our team, it wasn't his fault he had recently signed a very lucrative contract, a contract that he fully deserved for the level of player he was. He in recent years renegotiated that deal to a much more team friendly deal, he didn't have to do that, he could have taken the money owed to him. Do you think many of our other players would have done that?

What's the strike rate of the great smoking gun? The torch was usually on the money. Most of what was posted was reported on FOX in either case. Media released revised offers were issued on Friday last week to the 4.
The only new name mentioned was Vete who was reported as going to the Titans.

What I can reveal is that the original contracts to woods and brooks have been pulled and are being restructured (based on years of contracts for woods and amount of dollars and years for brooks)

Tedesco will re-sign.

New players tigers have been in discussions with are Albert vete from the warriors and whare from Penrith. But I'm sure to hear more in the coming weeks about other players which I'll update in this thread.

I'm also hearing idris and kavin naq won't be on the books next year.

Is this like how you revealed that Braith Anasta after a Friday night game was involved in a match fixing scam when he played for the WT's ??

How did that go SG , Anasta get banned for life like Simona was

Or how you took a job at the Cowboys or was leaving the WT's ??

PS Say g'day to Robbie for us , wish him God's speed with his back injury

Wanna tell us a third time GlennB?

Nah… just responded to two and then GNR posted whilst I was making those posts. its a pet hate of mine (clearly). He injured his hip early 2011 but tore up for Aus late that year. He missed a lot of early 2012 with repeated hamstring issues. IMO its his hammies that have slowed him down based on his stellar form at the end of 2011 particularly for Australia. everyone automatic repeats the hip but he was on fire at the end of that year.

That was my opinion / memory too, though I was of the impression the hammys were an eventual result of the hip injury, just kept getting tighter and tighter.

Weird to watch that old (not so old) footage, it's like watching two different players the speed and acceleration.

Also look at how many bodies we had in motion that first try, Tigers don't get close to anything like that now.

I don't
He'll be in shock when he gets there. Hasler won't cop his bigheaded attitude.
It won't be the love fest that he had with Taylor.
