It's a been a long time guys. I'm back. Miss me?

I think we need to be a club again.

Yes we need good value players, but we need to get a bit of club spirit back.

Woods is great for that. People have been bashing him for his press conferences, for his media handling.. whatever I know that young kids are going to look at his shaggy hair and stature and go "I want to be like him".

Ofcourse we can't go paying ridiculous overs for people. Paying Adam Blair 500k a season sank too many good guys. It puts the idea that Woods getting 700k or 900k into perspective. for 700K I would say yes to woods, 900k is a big ask though.

Lets make this club the kind of place players want to stay at. Lets stop chucking grief at good people who have been messed around a fair bit.

When you watch Blair playing for Brisbane now , and watching him play for Melbourne previously surely no one car knock him anymore …....

Funny thing I am almost pessimistic if Woods & Teddy stay. Teddy is more critical and in my mind I have spent Woods & moses $$$$

Woods signing might rule out getting a top flight 6\. May have to look at Roberts or even the prodigal son returning

What about Maloney ?

Bird wants to play closer in and is commanding big dollars, we could offer a 2 year deal to Maloney, and that might help the Sharks retain Bird. Maloney's on about 450k, and that's half the money Widdop, Bird, Foran and Johnson are commanding. A five-eight with two premierships at two different clubs is as good as you'll get, and could be just the type of halves partner Brooks needs to develop his game. Played under Cleary at the Warriors that made the GF in 2011\. Would also solve our goal-kicking issues. He'll turn 32 next June but he's still at the top of his game and seems a good clubman.

That's assuming Tedesco stays as well of course

Does Woods staying influence Tedesco's decision?

I have said in other threads about Jimmy, he and his wife are very close to me and my wife and there is no way he will ever be coming to the Tigers… secondly, your guestimate of his contract money is way off the mark, while I don't know the exact figure I do know that when he was at the roosters it was $600k and when he went to the Sharks all he shared with us is that it was better. He also got an upgrade after winning the comp last year.
James WILL NOT be coming to the Tigers ever.
Need a new solution

A poster on the Sharks' forum a few days ago reported Moses to the Eels, Connor Watson to WTs.

Now Connor Watson would be an astute signing.- one I would support ahead of most of the names being thrown around. If Moses is in fact gone hope this one is true.

That's good for James, he deserves to be well rewarded - he's had great career, and it's still being written.

There are so many threads at the moment, too many to read them all, so I missed your previous comments on Jimmy.

Any truth to the rumor that I have been told that Benji Marshall will be here as soon as Moses gets his release?

Not sure about that. Moses rumoured to leave after Round 7 and Benji is out for 6 weeks

I didn't say he will be playing right away

ill have news on woods tomorrow. Looks like he's staying from words that have filtered through to me, just need to check with another source. Don't take it as gospel yet but it looks promising if your a woods/Tigers fan

Super keen to hear what you have to say today mate. All ears

Can't get any secondary confirmation but the first source is pretty reliable. I'd feel comfortable saying woods is going to stay.

I believe if Woods stays and Teddy see's we are after a solid 5/8 like GW plus looking at forwards he would be mad to leave.
I truly believe this Bus is heading in the right direction and see good time ahead.

Love it!

The good guys the Tiger Sharks quartet? Fifita's a superstar but not one I'd call a "good guy". As for Heighington, he got screwed by us but I think he benefitted well from the sea change ( ) and it prolonged his career by a few years methinks. As for Gibbs and Ryan, I was filthy for their first years away, but some good foresight as they obviously didn't last as long as we (or the Sharks) thought they would when we offered them contracts earlier.

Though the hidden gem in that 2012 season was one man, 10 letters, two words: Aaron Woods.

:sign:

One of those players I just can't imagine playing anywhere else. Then again, always seemed a bit strange seeing Civoniceva in a Penrith jersey.

Ten days ago, you said Teddy will re-sign after getting his new contract offer? What has been the hold up? Curious to know.

Dunno what the hold up is. His offer from tigers is far superior to rivals. Moses leaving may have changed things but I doubt it

When do you think he'll make a decision?
