Its Almost Over

Correct me if Im wrong but since the beginning of last year (and i couldn't be bothered looking further back) we have won 5 games of football. On all 5 occasions the opposition were heavily depleted due to injuries or state of origin. We beat the Dragons and the knights twice (pfft) and the Panthers when they had half their team out. We haven't even looked like beating a top team other than the Souths game when we got done on the bell. Who could forget the spanking we received from the wooden spooners.
This club has gone backwards under this coach who has never really had a long term plan and our club has suffered as a result. The structures and game plan of our team are laughable and continue to get worse. The players are not responding and haven't in my opinion for over 2 years. Its time for him to go.

All I have is an opinion, I have no idea what is really going on inside the club so can't suggest what a permanent solution would be, but if they sack Madge then they need to tap players on the shoulders aswell. We have been through 5 coaches and nothing has changed, if we sack the coach without any intention to take a broom through the playing group it will just be groundhog day. If Paul Kent was right and there was a player complaining Madge was training them too hard in the preseason then they need to be the first punted no matter who they are.

There's been change.... All for the worse

U don’t get it do u , u just can’t get rid of players who have contracts , so it’s easier to move a coach on , been one person rather than 30 players

The definition of insanity; doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. = Me watching a Wests Tigers game. Etc.

I saw in the press conference where Tamou likens where we are to Penrith a few years back. Yes, Penrith had a poor 2019 - where they came 10th mind you, not last. The next year Cleary got them to the grand final and they win the premiership the following year. We are nowhere near that and are sinking lower and lower each year. Sorry Tamou and Madge, but doing the same thing is not going to work. It hasn't worked for three and a half years. What to do - sack Madge and see if someone else can get some sort of lift from the team. We will only know if we give it a go. We literally can't do any worse than where we are. If under a new coach the players still perform terribly, show them the door as soon as their contracts are up.

Start by this week
1. Laurie comes back - To'a just doesn't cut it at fullback
3. Gildart - No idea what we do the bloke can't defend. Maybe James Roberts takes his spot
4. Garner stays offers not much attack but can defend
Wingers no idea Ken and Noffo are going like busteds
6. Madden - may aswell keep him at least gets experience
7. Keep him in at halfback
13. Hastings play the ball playing lock type role
9. No idea Liddle can't handle 80 mins - either Peachey at 14 or Simpkin or Rua ? We need to work out who goes end of 2022 Liddle or Simpkin potentially released to dolphins (they are desperate)
I don't disagree, but I'm sure most of what you've said is being addressed.
It's a bit hard to know who's who in the zoo when key players are injured or suspended and new players are trying to find the feet in a disjointed side.
We simply need a better roster.
We have the money but we don't want to go throwing 1.1m or more at munster type signings.
We've started to get out of salary cap trouble, don't want to go down that path again.
Api is still a premium hooker and I'll think you'll find there will be a shake up in that position soon.
Papa is also quality but we need one more like him.
Sometimes 1 or 2 top players can make a huge difference to a side.
I'm praying someone will pop up sooner than later.
We need footballers, that's our priority.

Maumalo is definitely playing injured.

However our issues start at the top (CEO, board, management) and trickle down to the coaching staff and playing group.

All effected....

Where there is smoke, there is fire...

Pascoe & Madge first to go please.

Pascoe is long overdue. He has overseen every failure from the whole JT/Farah deal onwards. His mate Cleary got free run to wreck the joint.
Keeping the books balanced isn't cutting it. We have gone backwards under Pascoe.

Get a bookkeeper

Madge needs to go. Poor selections, poor use of the bench, no gameplan or structure and the complete lack of player motivation is on the coach.

There are other areas.

Our strength and conditioning department is a joke. We don’t look fit and we regularly get dominated. We need a massive overhaul of the facilities and personnel here.

Recruitment and retention is a massive failure. We cannot attract a big name player in their prime. When your targets are fringe first graders and youngsters with potential, there is always going to be a percentage of misses. Our problem is that we can’t keep our hits. We have had JAC and Tuilagi fall into our laps only to lose them based on delaying an offer, trying to pay unders or.not want to include additional years. This shows a lack of talent identification of players in the club as well as around the league
