Its not all about the players

Its time Maguire took ownership of the situation the performance of the team the position on the ladder another season not making a final series ..its not just the players I have been watching this game long enough to know a coach CAN make an average player hold his own .
This is a poorly coached team last night just confirmed it ...the club can spin this any way they like ,brining in a few better quality players will not fix the issue the issue is the coach and he needs to be removed .
His record at the club just reaffirms my views the team has been on a negative downward projective since his appointment ... Its easy to blame the players its time the real blame should be brought to a head !

Bottom line is, would the club extend him at the moment and the answer would have to be an almost totally resounding no.

Taylor was long gone before it got to a similar point.

How oppositions can create a two or three man overlap is the teams weakness. Why cant that be fixed by the coaching staff?
i get one man but two or three?

Easy. Take a look at an example of our positioning from last night. This is when Nikorima kicked through for them to score.

Doueihi has run (and turned) in so Nofo is forced to follow. Their fullback could easily have run around and created 3 on 1. Laurie is in no man's land as he had to try and cover the edge. They turned the ball back and he's gone. Our inside defenders have been lazy and left a gap (where they scored).

Nofo, Laurie and Twal are the only ones showing urgency. They only had 12 men but still could have scored out wide because we jammed the middle.

What's really disturbing is they could have also scored on the other edge - we have four defenders not visible and they have six attackers not visible so we were also two down on the other side.

I don't know what the answer is. With Laurie sitting back on the 5th tackle we should still have been able to defend man on man against 12 but instead we're tripping over each other.

The dude in the green jersey is where our fullback should’ve been
For all of Laurie’s positives his positional play lacks a few times ..

Nah, Laurie was pretty well where he should have been, being just behind the ball, having already started to apply the breaks in that shot as Nikorima propped.

I'd prefer to watch a doco on a successful club.

Cameron Ciraldo anyone

Mate,I hate reality TV shows but when our doco airs Im going to have to watch MAFS,because it would be less torturous than our show....

Management is a farce
They’d rather focus on making B grade docos and conjuring up desperate fan girls crap like the ambush than focusing on footy.

Lol

Glad u think its funny Cochise.

I don't think u ever answered my question either when I asked if you like the film The Warriors either.

Mate, go at the club as much as you want, they are amateur, very difficult to support and quite frankly a joke. But having a at other supporters who give up their time to try and create something for fans is weak. Personally I don't care as I am very thickest skinned and don't listen to @hobbo1 but people like @geo @Tiger_Steve and @jirskyr give up their own time trying to deal with this incompetent club for very little in return.

Step up your game dude, you should be ambushing the opposition each week to ensure victory and still haven't answered The Warriors question.

The bench is poorly managed and somewhat robotic. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, without decent assistant coaches the modern game has left Madge behind.

All reasonable concerns.

In 2.5 years the playing group has changed significantly, yet they’re playing the same. The only constant is the coach and management. They need to go.

No mate it’s the players. They are the ones who drop balls, throw forward passes, miss tackles. We just don’t have the cattle at the moment to compete. That is slowly changing. You only need to look to the lower grades to know.

I disagree Mike. We’ve chopped and changed players a lot since Madge has arrived but unfortunately it’s made no difference. His coaching methods are antiquated and simply don’t work for the modern game. Our team is an embarrassment and he’s a large reason for it. He’s had 2.5 years, he’s failed, time to try something different. It doesn’t matter who we sign, with him at the helm we’ll never move forward.

Our lower grades success, in my opinion, is all Hartigan.

Well we disagree. Until we have actual NRL grade players results won’t change. Gladly that is happening, just not as quickly as everyone would like.

Our team now is much better than teams in previous years, but he can’t coach. Cleary got a team that was half as talented to play to their abilities, because he’s a good coach. We will never play finals with Madge as coach.

We finished higher previously with lesser squads. The problem is, he can’t coach. You bring Flanagan or another credentialed coach with an understanding of the modern game and we improve overnight.

It wouldn’t matter who the coach was, it’s a dud squad. Even Bellamy wouldn’t do any better, he be moving players on just like we are slowly.

He really only has one game plan and it does not suit the modern game.

He needs the squad to adapt to match his style and is unable to adapt his style to match the squad.
