Ivan Cleary - Talkin Sport 2/5

As ive said before, most think Cleary is a good operator and no mug. Thats our general feeling and those in the game as well.

If the club is a wreck and a shambles and imploding, they did a damn good job of covering everything before he signed a contract. For a guy who had many options, how the hell did he get blinsided into signing on.

Two possibilities. He is stupid, or its not true. I think i will choose the latter.

Hes not stupid , he made sure he has full control over coaching. I still wonder if he really knew the depth of the problems in the club though.
I'd bet there's a let out clause in his contract just in case
After what he's seen and heard obout the last 4or 5 years. I would think that he would want an exit if the club didn't come up with the players he wants.

He addressed this, saying you often don't know what things are like from the outside. I think. I had my crying 15 month old in my arms lol

Tacky gets a mention

 I just listened to the interview, I can't believe they mentioned my rumour. I'm just so surprised that someone believed it. By the way, you can thank Born tiger for the idea.

Haha, good onya mate. I was pretty happy when I saw my idea!!

That was a very interesting experiment into how the media use social media for content.
As Doc Carl would say…if your a true social scientist..experiment and write now the results.
I reckon the media get about 30% correct. The rest is just B.S.
It was interesting how quickly that got onto main stream sites and radio and raise as a question to the coach. It was also good to see the coach laughed and say I haven't heard that one.
Well done. Puts a lot of things into perspective.

There was a similar one done several years ago involving Mark Viduka making a return to the Socceroos . A guy wrote in a forum that his brother works at Heathrow airport & had seen Viduka board a plane to China where the Socceroos had a World Cup qualifier . It was completely false of course , Mark was somewhere off the coast of Croatia doing some fishing , but the rumour ended up making the mainstream media until the plane landed & Viduka didn't get off , lol .

Cleary is first rate. Really got a sense of the clubs history including that of the founding clubs and seemingly every aspect of the team and off field issues.
Rare to get a guy in a job that fits in so well. Seems like he was waiting on this job a while and was hoping to coach us.
Lots to look forward to.

Enjoyed the interview, I used to like the flashy football years ago but it was always so inconsistent. Consistent teams know how to grind out a game when its in the balance and take chances when you need too. I always felt more comfortable if we were chasing a target than defending.

Hopefully Cleary can get the people he really wants and make a well rounded team that play for each other and not for themselves and bring some pride back into the jersey.

In all honesty there wasn't much in that interview. The biggest take away I get from Cleary is that he is focused on ending the BS which has seen petulant and underperforming players controlling the club for so many years.

We're finally getting the clean out we've needed for so many years and we have a strong willed coach at the helm to do it. We still have lots of players to sign for next year. Next few weeks will be interesting to see who we can nab.

I feel even more confident for Cleary being at the helm after this interview.

He states that he's looking for the best interest in the team by the selection of Woods at captain, this makes me think that there's a lot of talk and action behind closed doors that us as fans don't see.

I also think its very professional of Cleary to choose whoever is the best fit at captain, which sounds like it is Woods, instead of just kicking him out of the role because he will depart the club next year. As much as I don't like Woods in the role, I like what Cleary is doing here.

Ivan will be on at around 5:15pm today..

I have no idea why an unprofessional Club like ours would allow him to appear on that show of gibberers..

Anyhow Link here for those that may be interested.. http://www.2smsupernetwork.com/player2/default.html

Gee what a waste of time listening to those guys dribbling crap while I waited to hear Cleary.
There was a time when 2SM was the best radio station in Sydney, how times have changed.

wow 2SM web presence is poor looking.

This reeks of a company failing to reinvest or innovate in its product/brand.

These days Talkin sport is hard to listen to. My main irk besides Tunks is the paid advertising masquerading as content or insight.

It's a private station… Much like the private rag TWT, it's pretty rubbish.
Im sure they broadcast day old traffic reports amongst other garbage

I don't mind most of it, but when that Whineing. Little PC twit Gavin is on it's time to turn it off, I'm so sick of his " you carrrnnt say thaaat Grahaaam" , when ever anything is said that he's not game enough to discuss,( like women's tennis getting paid the same but only having to play 3 sets)
I'm sure he must get put in the naughty corner by his wife if he dares to say anything about women's sport that isn't PC., God he's a whinger!!!
