Do people not realise that it is always in the best interests of the media to draw out any headline or article they can? It doesn't matter if what they're saying is true or false, all that matters is it generates interest from the public.
With a huge fanbase at WT, and a lot of gullible fans, we are the cash cows of the media. Every article on a website will get tens, if not hundreds of thousands of views. And the ad revenue that goes with it.
Therefore the media won't ever say that he's staying. That's boring. Doesn't generate any more articles, or make them any more money.
Why not talk about possible signings
That's sure to get some traffic
This is going to be one very
Very
Very
Very long off season for us
No it won’t.
September- talk enviously of other team successes.
October - talk about how unfair a broncos roosters grand final was
November - whinge incessantly when Cleary re-signs with Penrith and Ivan heads to Penrith
December - scaremongering as Brooks is offered contracts with all clubs while we say nothing because Pascoe is on holidays
January - fiercely debate the signing of Barrett as our coach and look up internet to check he doesn’t have any teenage sons playing for rival clubs
February- cry and argue when our final roster is full of toilers and up and coming future stars
March - go crazy when Reynolds dislocates shoulder and tears hamstring in round one.
See! Off season will fly by??
