I don't care if we get the wooden spoon for the next 2 years that he is stuck here. His stocks would fall dramatically, Penrith and Gould would like like fools and in the eye of every other supporter of NRL Wests Tigers would be heroes for having the guts to tough it out.
I reckon if he asked for a release he would get one, the same way teams release players that don't want to be here. They can become destabilising, Go and Pascoe's statements can be looked at one of two ways. They can be doing it simply to say to the fans we did what we could but didn't want drama to infiltrate the playing group, or it could be a non story and they are saying it like it is.
I would like to think Ivan is a man of his words and principal but I have a funny feeling Gould will get his way, and we'll be left with the house half built.
Disagree. It sends a message that we can be leaned on and we will crack. Proper clubs when asked to release people important to their success say no and expect the people to act professionally and get on with the job they were hired to do. Our reaction to things like the Kahu and Taupau situations are why someone like Gus thinks we're here for his shopping needs.
Agreed it is about time we played hardball, as a club we have rolled over to many times
