Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

What a disgusting situation this scumbag has put has in. The worst possible outcome would have been having his son here, I hope that never happens. Stuff them and their dream, we backed him after Gould humiliated him, and people like me have supported some of his dodgy recruitment and selection calls only to get this.

Best case scenario for the integrity of the game is for us to keep him until Penrith invest in another coach and sack the grub the next day if he is chucking a Moses.

Next best thing, and probably better for us, is to take them to the cleaners in terms of players and cash. Just feeds back into the NRL being a grubby sport though, so I prefer we drag this out and humiliate the Clearys and Gould.

The poor players, probably the most mentally resilient bunch of good blokes who play for each other we've had since Sheens and they have to cop this. I thought Cleary sounded a bit strange saying this group might not be the group we need for success (after he assembled them), now I hope he chokes on a cooked bone like the Dog he appears to be.

From bad to worse with the captain and the other clowns teddy the snake and Moses the fairy bailing on the club…
... To the coach walking out on us too?

Absolute joke.

If he asks for a release and we say no, anything shady he and Penrith do from there, would leave them without a leg to stand on in court, surely.

Yeah if he was just doing what was best for his son he could just let him stay at Penrith.

Sounds like he's already asked for a release and has been denied.

And all leading up to our semi-annual Raiders flogging. I dare say we'll get 60 put on us.

And I bought my tix to Sunday’s yesterday…. :roll talk about bad timing .....

Gould on the news was quick to state it wasn't him that had the discussion with Ivan Cleary. Perhaps Go and Pascoe have got their message across.

I have also heard this was driven by the chairman of Penrith David ONeill who is Clearys mate. Gus may very well be the messenger.

Why don't we boycott the game against the Dragons to show our disapproval.

That only hurts the club.

The club isn't the one who has done the wrong things here.

The way you stick it to the NRL is cancelling your Foxtel subscription, Not watching other NRL games.

Times like this supporters should stick by the club.

People are missing the point - its more than just losing your coach - the whole Tigers brand would be laughable if they don't take a stand. Its about showing stakeholders and members and other clubs that the years of being a patsy are over. Pascoe has gone out of his way to state this. All that remains is that they stick to their guns. I personally believe Cleary will break his contract and walk with Gould up to his neck in that decision. If this happens the WT have to go hard - sue Cleary, sue Penrith and especially sue Gould. Stuff compensation. This could very well be a defining point in this clubs history.

He is just covering his butt to avoid any legal ramifications that might arise. What a coward.

Gould/penrith would be loving seeing tigers fans turn on our own coach. Thats probably half the strategy…say bits and pieces to the media in a certain way, leak half truths and make a few things up, let the media run with it and watch tigers fans turn on Ivan and push him out the door.

My take is that Ivan has been told that the head coach position at Penrith is available to him if he wants it for x dollars/years etc. Ivan has informed Pascoe of this off the back of the Griffin sacking yesterday (knowing the media would link him to his son). Pascoe has made comment about the two of them having a frank discussion around the situation - eg Pascoe letting Ivan know theres no way hes leaving here under contract. Also from Pascoes comments it's pretty clear that Ivan has not asked for a release. I actually think there is nothing to worry about at all and the comments from Go and Pascoe are completely reactionary to the intense media speculation and uproar from tigers fans that happened today rather than any concern internally. Pascoes video on our website I saw as a get stuffed to gould/penrith more than anything else.

Cant knock Ivan for receiving another job offer, have faith in Ivan that he will have come to the right decision. Everything the media is saying completely contradicts the character of the man we've gotten to know over the last 2 years. Just old mate Gould back at it again - causing a stir

Josh Reynolds revealed tonight on NRL360 that the players had the day off today.
Now, if Ivan waited for the joint to be empty before disclosing to Pasco the meeting with the Panthers weeks ago and subsequent offer from the panthers since then he is as gutless as it gets.

He told Pascoe on Monday, not today

Ivan informed Pasco on Monday night, I don’t believe the players were training in the dark wearing miners hats, so according to my maths the joint was empty Monday night and all of Tuesday when the turncoat delivered the killer blow to an empty court room.
I rest my case Your Honour…

Put this is Gould's thread but here it is

I may have sent him one or two

As reported was not Gus who made contact with Ivan even though we all are blaming him.
He drives me nuts but he has looked very uncomfortable with the recent events maybe because it was not driven by him.
