There are no winners in Clearygate, only losers.
Penrith have come out looking very bad
Gould is finally being shown what he is all about
Ivan’s integrity has take a massive hit
Hook has lost his job
WestsTigers are now faced with the call…do we really want a coach who wants out

What's he going to do? Suggest dud tactics for the next two seasons? I think it'll be fine if he stays. A part of me would welcome us waiting for Penrith to sign a new coach, release Ivan from his contract with us and see what happens. Gus might explode…

How do you even determine if a coach doesn’t want to be at a club. It’s not like a player and you can clearly see they are dogging it. A coach’s job is all internal. There’s nothing to show his heart isn’t in what he’s doing.

He could play Reynolds every game, That'd be enough

I think you mean playing Lolohea for the rest of the season.

No I mean Reynolds, but he could play Lolo as well, thats even scarier

I think its 50-50 whether he stays or goes, which is a lot tighter than yesterday morning. Yesterday i'd have had it at about 80-20 in favour of him going. I just don't get why some of you are prepared to roll over so meekly saying there's no point in keeping him here if he doesn't want to be here. That's how Penrith want us to feel. Stuff that. If he goes, we come out of the deal stronger than we would have been had we not given him a release. We have so much to gain, and they have so much to lose. Why should we squander that after they believed they could rip our club apart and make us look like the basketcase in all of this.

I still don't understand WHY Ivan would even consider going back to the Panthers for a number of reason:
He would lose the power of running a team - Gus does that
Gus would do the recruitment
Gus fired you 3 years ago as you were not good enough but now you are??
After watching Hooks interview last night believe not many good coaches would go there until Gus left.

All this just to keep Nathan at the club..

Madness I say considering Marina Go last night said that he is in control of recruitment at Tigers and if he wants Nathan here he can make it happen…

We definitely shouldn’t roll over to slimey Gould. I think the key in this whole thing is did Cleary really say I want to coach the panthers next year when he was approached. If he did and he has asked for a release then his position here in untenable. But as you said drag this on , make them look bad and get every dollar we can get out of them if we are to let him go.

One thing is for sure, jobs will almost certainly be lost once the dust settles. If we stick to our guns, Gus, their CEO and Chairman would have to resign as they created this mess. If we back down from our strong stance, then you have to ask if Pascoe and Go make themselves untenable.

A long shot, but maybe Gould is on the outer and is about to be flicked. If you can believe anything that has been said, Cleary was offered the gig by his mate at Penrith and Gould was not involved.

So Cleary gets total control and His arch enemy in Gould is gone.

I reckon it's 80/20 in our favour based on Marina go comments.

I thought news ltd(Kent) is the only one claiming he said he wanted to coach there next year and everyone just accepts it as fact.I cant accept anything that the murdoch press claims is true at face value. The only thing they want to do is sell papers/money/agenda.It is the epitomy of "fake news" to use a popular term

This is hilarious …lmao..

From saviour to the anti-christ and back again...

It's comical to say the least.

Have to agree,
So many wet pants

Not unexpected imo.
People are passionate about this club, they spend thousands of dollars and hours of their lives supporting them.
It would be a very dull forum and games if we were all meh and ambivalent.

So how long does the club give Ivan to make up his mind ?

This crap needs to end ASAP !

We have a roster to fill and players to re-sign .

I don't think we should bend one little bit. Hold firm.

But I do understand why other people say he should be let go regardless.

This is the first year in many we have had no real drama. Then the guy we brought in to guide us out of that creates this massive issue all on his own.

It's really poor form and a kick on the guts to all West's Tigers fans who have supported him.

He now looks like just another coach who talked culture but didn't understand the club, what we have been through or what this culture thing actually means.

Also fox sports are reporting that Nathan has just resigned till 2024 with Penrith. If this IS the case were screwed.

its Hooper, pulling a story from nothing

FYI. Hooper is a WT's supporter.

:brick:

Had a funny way of showing it last year when he was helping Woods throw us under the bus. Awesome supporter.

Some fans react worse than actual club enemies.

Agree with what your saying. But Clearys silence is deafening, the fact a press conference wasn’t held on Tuesday to nip this on the butt tells me that our good friend ivan has gotten his hands dirty.
