Brian Fletcher's comments are unbelievable.

So, according to them - they are willing to have a caretaker coach in Ciraldo stay on for the next 2 years while Cleary's contract plays out with us. Yet they believe they are in a so-called 'premiership-window' with their current squad. If they are to be believed, they are willing to potentially throw that away without an experienced coach for the next 2 seasons. And then say this:

Load of crap.

All this talk of not knowing the facts, so we shouldn’t be too hard on Cleary ends with these quotes. Cleary here is guilty by association. If he really intended on not going anywhere, he’d retort to this, because his name would be getting dragged through the mud for no reason. He hasn’t responded because it’s true. Anyone at this point who doesn’t believe Cleary is up to his eye balls in this is in denial.

We all are entitled to our conclusions on this matter.
I just find it rather strange that people are passing judgement before all the facts are known.
And critisizing Clearys reaction to the offer where they would very likely do the same thing. Consider the offer, discuss it with their family and only then advise their current employer.
Now if you would do anything different then you would be telling me there a fairies living at bottom of your garden.

You make me laugh 8 hour's ago your telling me how do I know for certain blah blah , I'm listening to to many rumours blah blah…..
Since you closed your eyes last night and woken up this morning you say that like any offer you'd be discussing it with your family blah blah , but how is that possible when Ivan hasn't said anything ? Did he text you or call you? that's what he was doing ( discussing offer with family) , here you are telling me how I'm reading into to much rumours etc....

Like GNR says your in denial , like so many on here some just take longer than other's to admit the realisation of it all .

end of our conversation my young friend.

There is no way the club should extend Cleary. I’ve been a fan but was willing to give him leeway in his first year. We most likely don’t play finals this year. What if we don’t make finals next year and we now have him for 4 years. He has shown himself to have little integrity and if the club wasn’t playing hardball he would have walked out on us on Monday. So do we really want someone like that coaching our team? I know I don’t. Only here because his lawyer told him he has to be. Get as much compensation out of the panthers and move on. Ivan is now on his own bus heading up the m4 and good riddance.

He has shown himself to have little integrity …... Really? no clear evidence on that ....Jury still out.

There is no way the club should extend Cleary. ..... Maybe yes and maybe no. Depends how the final story pans out.

I’ve been a fan but was willing to give him leeway in his first year. ..... you haven’t given him much leeway that I can see.

We most likely don’t play finals this year. ...... first thing you said that you may be right on.

What if we don’t make finals next year and we now have him for 4 years. ........What is that all about? We probably will not with any other coach.

If the club wasn’t playing hardball he would have walked out on us on Monday. ..... Really? Source?

So do we really want someone like that coaching our team? ......... Yes because he is one of the best NRL coaches around.

I don’t. ...... OK but many others would.

Only here because his lawyer told him he has to be. ......... Really? source?

Get as much compensation out of the panthers and move on....... unlikely to happen. Panthers are a smart bunch who rely on lots of fake news which some people are all to eager to swallow.

Ivan is now on his own bus heading up the m4 and good riddance........ Really? I just today saw the bus parked at Concord. Getting ready for the journey to Canberra.

Chill out Girl Scout, it’s his opinion …....source? Ahahahah.
Where’s your evidence to back that none of this happened.
Oh yeah you saw a bus at concord ....... wow sorry my bad.

Lol love it. As someone else said, my source is my television and my phone and my brain putting 2 and 2 together.

So with all this silence from club and couch there is only one outcome to this… Coach is leaving and they are working out details and time frames etc...

Forget the idea that the silence is because we have a big game this Sunday because if he was staying they would just come out and clear this up so the PLAYERS can just focus.

Its that simple to me..

Time to start a search for a coach for 2019 unfortunately..

I am fuming like most as we all brought into Ivan and the direction but this will always be remembered..

SIGH …..cant you read? I am saying that to date there is no clear evidence to nail anyone but Panthers for this.
Catch you at the next Scout Hall meeting .... girly!

So the fact that there were no jet engine fan blades found at the Pentagon means that it was actually a missile fired from a Iowa Class Attack Submarine parked off the coast and it was all organised by the White House, because Exxon wanted in on the Iraq Oil Fields

:bash

Please continue to draw precise conclusions from your subjective interpretation of limited facts.

Are you saying IC masterminded the whole 911 attacks? Interesting. Has he ever denied he _wasn't_ involved?

I'm pretty sure the club has spoken a couple of times. Each time re-iterating Ivan has a contract and won't be released, nor has he at this stage requested one, and finally if Ivan and Nathan want to be in the same team in the next 2 years it will be at WT. Pretty clear to me.

Not Cleary, Gould! It's obvious man!!

Or the London attacks. Maybe this isn't the first bus he's blown up.

I dunno if someone offered my double my salary, I'd take a few days to think about it.

I think we can all agree that if there was nothing at all to this story, then Cleary could have come out really early and knocked it on the head, which he hasn't. So he must be making some kind of decision.

I can respect that he doesn't want to make a public comment until he makes a decision - that's something Phil Gould does, and Gus just gets caught up in all his lies. Perhaps Cleary is considering whether or not it's reasonable to take an offer from Penrith 2 years in advance.

Ivan has never seemed one flustered by media and speculation.

Imagine then if Ivan came out on Tuesday and said "there's nothing to this story", but decided to move to Penrith at some point - he'd be vilified way worse than he is being now, way worse.

If Cleary came out and said "it's a very substantial offer and I need to consider it" - people could respect that I guess, but then he'd be attacked for taking away the focus from the Tigers team.

I personally believe both of those scenarios are worse than current - he's wearing a bit of fan flack, but the media haven't really pounced on Cleary himself. So I can understand Cleary saying nothing until he has something substantial to say.

Now imagine if he holds a press conference on Saturday and says: "Penrith came to me with a very large offer from 2021 and I had to consider it, which I have done. I wanted to tell the Tigers about this offer straight away and not comment publicly until I'd made my mind up". Is that so unreasonable? In fact if not for Gould getting ahead of his own plans and firing Hook, we wouldn't even know about all of this.

Why is Ivan's position "untenable" as many people have said, for considering a big offer from somewhere else? Hell, James Tedesco accepted then turned down a huge Raiders offer and everyone was chipper about it.

And if Cleary does take an offer at Penrith 2021, for double his salary, could you really hate him for it? Could he not do a decent job in his last 2 years? He may or may not be like Mitchell Moses, but most players (and I assume offiicals) try to give their best within their contract, even if they are leaving at some point.

One of the reporters on TV tonight said Penrith have thrown 1.6mpa+ at Ivan which is double what he is on with us.

I still think Ivan will stay but if he does I would rather he is extended if Nathan signs long term with Penrith so it forces Panthers to look elsewhere for a long term coach.

1.6mil for Ivan and then they can sign Nathan for 400k. Its thinking outside the square.

Doesn't work like that anymore - not with the operations cap NRL are introducing. The money comes out of somewhere, either player salary or operations.

Trouble is many still don't agree with your second paragraph and the Go answer regarding reports of what Ivan said to the players is likely at the root of that. 'Ivan is considering his position' or similar would seem to have been much more appropriate and would not make any difference in negotiations. Instead we have only heard such as 'not asked for and won't be granting a release' from the club, which just doesn't cut it after four days.

yes understand this but why not as a coach just come out and clear the air with all the members and fans so everyone can move one.. If is was all cleared up we can move on..

He may do a good job, but it does make our recruitment the next few years a bit of a problem

Sponsorships & memberships may suffer as well

I hope this doesn't happen.

This is the first time in a long time our club hasn't done the wrong thing.

They have stood strong and firm and hopefully continue to do so.

I hope this may even make the supports stronger. Almost an Us against them mentality. We won't be pushed around any longer
