Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

Quietly, Ivan may have used the approach of the Panthers to secure himself a longer term agreement with the Wests Tigers?…. lets face it, you can't blame him for playing business politics if that is the case to secure his own future with W.T(all about timing)......business is ruthless, if the Tigers play s*** for the next two years the fans here will be demanding his head on a plate not his loyalty ..Pascoe will offer Ivan an extension before November, Nathan will join in 2020 that's my prediction. at what price? the fans won't trust him, but the fans don't pay his wages and will forgive him if at some point we are a top 4 team.

Very close to my thinking.

Rumours and gossip will be with us for the next two years and this drama will not go away. Although it gives us some breathing space to find or groom a new coach.

Probably the best out come but it has come at a cost

I wouldn't expect a reply tigers05premiers…

No

Just curious as to what he was actually getting at

If it's that NC was going to make his decision on his bday we all knew that already

But given what's gone down the last week and if there is any merit to IC agreeing to a deal with panthers at whatever start date it wouldn't make sense to wait until than

IC will probably state today that he is staying with the tiger's until the of 2020

He will than state that he will make a decision in the off season as to whether he is going to panthers in 2021 or re signing with the tiger's on an extension

That way team's can finish their season with as little interruption aa possible in this mess that PUSS created

Than they will give until NC bday which I think is mid November to make out it was a tough decision to make now that both are involved

Once IC decides (which wil be based NC preference) NC will than announce his future

So what do you think IC will do if the WT have successful years in 2019 and 2020?….

He would have achieved what he set out to do, I did his job …... and he’ll move on!
We will get new coach. All happy campers.

If true, all this confirms is that EVERY SINGLE MEDIA JOURNO knows no more than you and I sitting in our kitchen having a cup of tea.

All the so called 'my sources tell me' etc etc is complete crap and just clickbait.

100% right

Interesting reading, if Nathan re-signs with Panthers the talk about Ivan to Panthers will continue for two more years.

And if he hangs out until November to look at offers then all the talk will be NC to Wests and hopefully derails Penriths semis. Interesting times ahead.

So everyone can RELAX now. Oh and watch this space come off season…...

Yep but at least we can rrrrrrrRELEX for couple of months.
No doubt lots to be read about all this before next season proper starts.

Im disappointed that no one here has come out and mentioned how great of a job Justin Pascoe and Marina Go did through this whole affair. It was truly outstanding and a defining moment in our history.

When this broke we were very little chance to hold on to him but those guys stood their ground and forced a result.

What great job Justin Pascoe and Marina Go did through this whole affair. It was truly outstanding and a defining moment in our history.

100% right

Kent emphatically stated that Ivan was Gone. $1.01 was the betting price he mentioned. These blokes are just throwing darts

Who knows but NC may have already signed with panthers and they aren't going to announce it until the end of the year

If so IC would know this and know what his future is

But if NC hasn't actually signed yet and hasn't agreed on terms to sign as he is still undecided than i guess that would mean that (and it's just an opinion) that maybe IC holds the cards and if he really doesn't want to be at panthers with puss there he may talk NC into coming to tiger's even though it's not his 1st option

I mean if NC really wants to stay where he is and IC says ok than I'm coming over there than it's all sorted isn't it

One for the Optimists!

No way - they need to deflect the mess they have created and have a good story leading to the semis - if they don't announce his signing now then he hasn't signed.

Things have changed big time for Cleary here - and he will need to be made of steel to last the next two years if things don't improve at our club.
He will be critqued harsher than ever after losses and should we have a run of poor performances his commitment and worth will be constantly questioned and dragged threw the coals.
Still not conviced its the best outcome for him to stay with us could create far more problems than he is worth.
The media will use this to create drama even when it may not exist and we have been down that path before. We dont need that when we are trying to move forward all for the sake of retaining Ivan Cleary imo.

Oh! So nothing has changed?
Can’t say that I’ve seen that this place is a retirement home for anyone …... ever!

Ahhhh

Just logged in for my morning hit of Tigers drama.

I must say, this thread has been more entertaining than ANY that have come before it.

The twists and the turns. But above all I have been so surprised by how many on here have been able to see through the situation and respect the integrity that the Tiges have shown.

Quote of the thread: source? “The TV”
Threads best Cliche: SG joining late pretending he knows something
High point: the 10 pages around Pascoe and Go Vs Gould appearance
Low Point: the pages of despair when so many thought the club would role over

117 pages! 2100 posts.

Despite everything our Tiges fan base is growing and is as passionate as ever

Go the Tiges!
