We are a less than desirable destination with a less than desirable coach (for a vast number of players).

I would just pay a 30% premium for the best juniors, which is fine because like Stefano or Staines (I know he's staying at Riff) they cost $300K - $600K per season, so that in two years we have a pretty good young team with a hope that they like playing together and are easier to be re-signed in their final year.

We offer them first grade experience and a premiership winning coach which for young players are desirable.

Current strategy not working - no point paying overs for superstars (who we cant get anyway) or for average players. Lets pay overs for juniors - more upside

Not sure what NRL360 version I watched? I saw a player asked some questions and answer them respectfully and honestly. Even calmly. I didn’t see depression nor did I see him wielding a knife. I’m no Marshall advocate but I really question some of the takes from his interview last night

I’m hearing JAC is off to Bunnies. Same agent as Cook signed him up a month ago.

On the other side of the coin I've heard he's agreed to a 4 year contract with WT'S the answer is a pineapple

Again this thread is full of people believing he said she said. Nothing real will come out till seasons end

I wish we could something, just something, from Wests Tigers management as to where the club is heading player wise in 2021/2022.

It looks bad if the club says we are going to sign players X Y and Z and you get none of them.At least there are no leaks and that is a massive plus for us

I hope you’re right. I’m one of the minority who thinks he would make a very good no. 1.

Lets hope that JP has learned from last time... and that JAC isn't signed by the bunnies this week

*The Daily Telegraph has learned the Tigers’ Canterbury Cup coach, Wayne Collins, is set to win the race to be Maguire’s assistant at the Concord-based club.

A final decision will be reached next week when Maguire and Tigers chief executive **Justin Pascoe return from a week’s leave.**

Other speculated candidates include former Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan, Dragons assistant James Shepherd and Huddersfield boss Simon Woolford.*

Collins = zero pressure. Basically a yes man.

Flanagan and Woolford = new ideas from other clubs.

I think we need some fresh ideas. Would have really liked David Furner.

Here's another pineapple !!!

SOUTHS TO EXTEND LATRELL... BUT IT COMES AT A COST

He has become the forgotten man given South Sydney’s recent run of form but the Rabbitohs have reportedly opened talks to extend fullback Latrell Mitchell.

Mitchell was warming his way into the No. 1 jumper and starting to really show signs of his dazzling potential before being ruled out for the rest of the year after going down injured in the 38-0 win over Parramatta.

His ball-playing skills from fullback only strengthened South Sydney’s already lethal attack and he is set to be rewarded with a two-year extension.

Mitchell is already contracted until the end of 2021 with a player option in his favour.

However, given his high profile in the game it could come at a cost to the club’s staggering depth in the outside backs.

“He’s got next year at Redfern but I think you’ll find Souths have started talks on a two-year extension” The Daily Telegraph’s Dean Ritchie said on Sky Sports’ Big Sports Breakfast.

“They do have a surplus of outside backs though. Campbell Graham’s there, Corey Allan, Braidon Burns of course is not playing.

“So it may mean there is a cull which obviously has to happen if you have a salary cap to adhere to. One name being mentioned is James Roberts.

“Souths no doubt will deny it but if Latrell is extended and there is big coin on offer, it may mean someone is squeezed out and perhaps James Roberts.”

On the surface, Mitchell signing a new deal would quash any suggestion of luring Josh Addo-Carr from Melbourne.

Addo-Carr has his sights on a No. 1 jersey, which would obviously be an issue at South Sydney given Mitchell’s rise.

However, Ritchie still said the deal could happen and that it will be determined by young prospect Joseph Suaalii.

“Well that will depend on the young kid Joseph Suaalii,” he said.

“They’ve set aside $500,000 a year for Suaalii but his management is playing hard ball with clauses.

“I think Souths’ patience, as much as they know he is a wonderful prospect, is wearing

They don’t have to name names, just tell your members you are targeting x number of players and in which positions, if that doesn’t come off, plan B is this. You’re also dangling carrots to player managers without breaking any rules. Honestly it feels like we’re closed for business until an injured reject becomes an option.

While I don't think it was terrible, and I enjoy the insight - I don't think he needed to come out and say Madge's style wasn't working on the young guys and he needs to find a way to change that, stating he has no idea how he will. While true, he's quickly distancing himself from the problem, a problem he should have been part of the solution for as a senior player. His comments also don't provide much hope for fans of the club.

Yes he has left, but if he loves the club you can be positive about things - even if you don't believe in them, we've just had yet another disappointing season... saying you have no idea how things are going to change just gives the impression of no faith.

There were a few subtle things. It's not being touchy, if you love the club you will back and promote them no matter what.

100% Agree... Personally he has been like this in most interviews sense he found out he was not getting resigned. Before that he was great promoting the club and was great for us. If I was the club I would pull my offer for a job after playing as this is not the kind of guy you want sulking around the club but that's just me.
I have really turned off the guy over the way he has handled it over the last month.

I also see Madge and Justin are away so there is no chance we hear any singing news this week unfortunately but I still hold that 1 % Chance we get JAC.

I hold the 1percent chance also. I know one player won't make us a force but he will help us be somewhat competitive next year, keep it interesting, and be more competitive hopefully 2022

Fair enough but I’m a very passionate fan who needs any sort of hope in reference to the Tiges and I certainly didn’t feel he was dumping on the club. I think we need some honesty - maybe not on 360: I’ll give you that

I have always defended Benji but I sensed a level of resentment last night. He was very measured in his responses as if he was aware of what he was going to be asked and came prepared. Not sure what the future holds for Benji but I would be very surprised if it has anything to do with WTs in the near future.

If he doesn’t get a contract for 2021 then he’ll look like a moron. I just don’t get where his sense of entitlement comes from. It’s not 2010, where he was the winner of the Golden Boot. He has zero leverage. Yet still carries on he’s the one with leverage.
