Yeah I certainly cannot see anything being announced until after the grand final. I would think it was probably done weeks ago and the lid has been put on it to allow JAC and the Storm to focus on the finals.

JAC might not be the miracle man to change our fortunes but a big name signing will help us get other big name signings. We were missing an experienced leader and we got Tamou. We are missing a bit of pace and if we get JAC then that is resolved aswell. 2 massive pieces of the puzzle filled and to me no excuses for not making finals football next year.

Just thought it worth the question. Do JAC and Nofo play on opposite wings? With those 2 we have out wide in the backs solved along with the centres. The only uncertain piece is fullback. Halves a work in progress but I'd go with Doueihi at 5/8 and Brooks at half, with B on his last chance.

I would assume that JAC will be offered FB first up, if he comes over.

Thing is - are we going to create the space for JAC to be effective. Watching Storm, he is so effective after Storm have dragged the defence into the middle. JAC will spend all his time with us scrapping for dirty metre coming off his try line. Hope I’m wrong but don’t think so

This has been my stance since the fanboys were wanting to throw the kitchen sink at him... he isnt the player that can change our outcomes. We didnt finish outside the 8 because we set up a heap of tries through a wing option that couldnt capitalise through lack of speed. He isnt a fullback.

Fair enough, maybe we sign no one then and just prey the top 10 club’s above fall over.
Ever thought signing him might make others have a look, he knows the best players in the comp after all, through SOO and Australian team.
As for not being a FB, how do you know this? That’s what they said about LM, he seemed to be going OK.

This paranoia about Souths getting JAC is really silly. They re-signed Johnston and still have Mitchell, Paulo, Burns, Gagai, Denniss and more. It's not so much that they can't get him, they simply do not need him. It'd be terrible business for them.

What I can see happening if this Crichton situation is legit, is Souths getting Crichton and the Roosters getting JAC. I am not saying we'll definitely get JAC but I am saying that Souths won't for sure.

But realistically I think we'll just get him because we want him, will give him a shot at fullback, will pay him what he needs and we are the club he wants to be at. There's literally no reason we won't get him.

Except he signs with someone else , you think it’s bad
business for any team to sign an Australian and soo rep player. Salary cap allowing any team whould fit him in
but I really hope we do get him it whould awesome wherever we play him

I can't find anywhere that says he was medically retired. It would be a rort if he was because he has had neck injuries as far back as 2016. So its definitely pre existing injury so begs the question of what happens to their salary cap considering he is signed to the end of 2021.

100%, cash underneath the table from big Russell to “retire”

Souths have AJ who is a left winger, Easts have Tupou who is a left winger, I should feel confident, but I read today that Parra and WestsTigers were the 2 hardest teams to deal with according to player managers, why is it we can't get our crap together

Player managers? I'd guess it was one manager, Isaac Moses.

Why the heck are we so hard to deal with? It’s not very often elite players want to join us, just work it out and stop stuffing around West’s Tigers!

I would think we would be one of the clubs managers like to deal with considering we pay overs for dud players that they are managing

Rothfield saying dogs are emerging as favourites to sign JAC

Don’t think it’s really what they need to target buy would really suck if we missed him. Once again we won’t know what’s true until there’s any official announcements
