Mate everybody has had the wrong interpretation of family in this particular instance....Its the brotherhood family he is speaking of...I smelt the rat when we were told he wants to come back to Sydney for family reasons and WTs extended an olive branch to him to come to us with a very good offer,as soon as I read that Souths were farewelling 7 players I thought he we go lets make room for JAC in 2022...JAC said I wont be in Melb2021,signed a HOA with WTs ,sighted family reasons to get back here....low and behold ""I can stay in Melb one more year""
If he gets released it would be very,very interesting to see what transpires,to me it looks like thanks Tigers but no thanks...

And I dont reckon Melb will release him for 2021 he is valuable to them...

Maybe Hooper is right and we can’t get deals done. Maybe Ivan paid all that money to Packer, Mbye, Reynolds etc because it was the only way anyone would join the club.

If that is the case you turn your attention to the top juniors grow them up together and hope they want to play and stay together in the future.

it's a false economy throwing huge money at free agents....it'll work for a while but you need the kids coming through to see it as more than a job and a wage but more of the brotherhood

1. You can't legally sign a contract before Nov 1
2. He's staying in Melbourne for 12 months
So the HOA is null and void

But, he said WT have signed Daine Laurie for 2022. Hopefully panthers will release him for 2021. He said he us a 'tier 1 sprinter'.

Also said likely to know what Mansour goes today. Which is likely WT.

So what was the point of even holding the meeting? Sounds like they left a bit out.

I would bet that at the meeting, JAC's manager brought up JAC wanting out of the HoA, to which we replied no chance, it is legally binding. If JAC leaves Storm this year, he's coming to WT or no-one. They didn't like that, so said that instead JAC will stay in Melbourne another year.

Really poor from JAC, wanting to leave Storm so he could be with family, he waits a whole year (unlike any other player in NRL history thusfar) and now is content to wait another year. And why? Because he doesn't want to come to us. So the whole being with family thing wasn't that important hey. The rest of the rugby league fraternity won't really care, but this guy is now irrelevant to me.

I don't bet money, but if I could bet money right now on him going to Souths in 2022 I would seriously consider it.

He should have a nickname "The Stringer". Very hard to believe anyone who just strings on contract negotiations.

New South Wales winger Josh Addo-Carr is set to have scans on an injured toe as he faces a race against the clock to be fit in time for next Wednesday’s decider in Brisbane.

The Melbourne star will have scans on his toe on Thursday and has been seen using crutches at the Blues’ recovery session.

Where is there anything about a delay?

So the knives are out again and yet the club actually were smart in their dealings. HOA means that the Bulldogs and South's are out of the equation for 2021 leaving us as the only Sydney option if JAC was that keen to leave Melbourne.
Also forced Melbourne to up his contract to retain him. We might not of got him but we were a thorn in the side of the clubs that were also linked to him.
