Hahaha, I suppose you want Laurie to join him, also being a recipient of the player award?
**Brooks is one of the team’s top 3 players.**
It may seem obvious to many, but still worth mentioning, that we have proven over the last decade, continually getting rid of our best players doesn’t improve team performance.

You're opinion ... not shared by most.

Shared by the club though, which I believe most are in denial about.

everyone except dam Douhie right ?
is he a 6
is he a centre
is he a lock
is he a fullback
or is he a super sub

Whatever he is it is more value to the team than Boat Anchor Brooks dragging us down year after year.
Hope he proves me wrong this year ... same as I've hoped every year.

Yeah, that opinion has really taken us places.
An opinion that nearly got the coach the boot.
Be interesting how long he would have persevered this year if AD had not been injured.

Come on mate, now you are saying it’s Brooks that nearly cost Madge his job. Is there anything you won’t pin on Brooks? Is it his fault Stef hasn’t re-signed yet?

Well this topic has advanced to 61 pages on my phone so it appears Jackson is the flavour of the month.
However, after reading all the posts it appears it's more about Brooksy.
Guys can we give Brooks a break. His name has been bashed and thrown around this forum like he was a sadistic mass murderer.
I get it, he's not an organiser and is too quiet but he can defend and has the talent.
He's with us in 2022 (at this stage) so get behind him you tiger supporters, show your stripes as they say.
Please talk more about Hastings, I'm sure the learned people we have in this forum can dig up some good oil on him.

What I'm saying is that he put his trust in him again again and he failed to do his job.
That in turn was a major contributor to us failing to win matches ... ultimately putting the heat on the coach.
So yes - I am saying it.
I'm not asking you to agree ... nor do I care.

Failed to do his job? That’s your opinion and certainly hasn’t been stated by anyone at the club as far as I’m aware?
The msm have bashed Brooksy to a pulp because it’s in their best interest to do so. No reason for any of us to jump on the Congo line.

Who says Brooksy is not an organiser?
An organiser needs a lot of support, gosh the only real support Benji got was from his golfing buddy. To get Asu’s support he resorted to throwing the ball to where he wanted him to be. Most people wouldn’t find it odd that our players of last season weren’t considered by other teams, but Brooksy was.

I’m not talking for the club and don’t profess to.
Don’t know why the msm (?) have an interest in bashing Brooks but ‘in my opinion’ he’s failed to do his job for the team.
I seriously hope with Hastings here it shakes him out of his sleepiness.

An opinion isn’t right simply because it’s popular.
You do make a good point regarding Hastings, but also others like Peechy who can provide options and take away the defensive focus on Brooks, also rather than run Twal on the second last we should give it to someone who can find his front and up quickly while the opposition D is still retreating. It’s not going to take much imo, and it’s only my opinion I know ?, to see a vastly improved team performance, with Hastings a key contributor.

This! So infuriating and nothing at all to do with the guy passing it, rather just him playing to the coach's instructions and carrying out the game plan.

Happy for Hastings to be barking out orders and at those not doing their part, then injecting himself when required whilst Brooks gets on with the job of controlling the game. Win, win, but not if the Twal play is still run, though doubt it will with Gardiner's influence on WT attacking shape as assistant.

Luke Brooks dominating the Jackson Hastings thread.. fascinating..

Run out of friends to argue with mate?
Unsure of your angle. As far as an organising half back goes, that's his job - a link between forwards and backs, hence the positions name 'half'.
Do you think he is as verbal and intimidating as a Cooper Cronk or Therston.
Do some research in Brooks posts/archives, plenty of opinions there about lack or organisational skills.
This is a Hastings topic, maybe you could start a Brook topic or regenerate the old ones (but that will arc up the haters though)
Did you read my post fully mate, **I like Brooks and we should support him!**
Chat privately with me if you disagree, Cheers bud

There's only 2 players that I have disliked while they wear the jersey, anasta, and tamou. Brooks used to be my favourite player about 5 years ago. He has not improved. He could maybe improve with a change of scenery, but......
My biggest reason for wanting him gone is that this year is supposed to be a nothing year, according to Madge/Sheens. Why do we persist with Brooks then?
**Give the keys to Hastings and move on.**

Hastings will play 6

For starters

Goal posts being moved I see.

Think he'll move to 7 when AD gets back.
Brooks to bench

I can see Brooks being dropped completely by end of season. We have 3 guys who want to be NRL halves fighting it out for 2 spots.

Wrong thinking. Totally wrong.
You have 3 halves in a good team, not halfbacks, halves. Lets soundoff:
Souths - Adam Reynolds, Cody Walker and Benji Marshall.
Penrith - Nathan Cleary, jerome Luai and Matt Burton.
Storm - Jerome, Munster and Nicho Hynes.

Two halves start, if they fail to break the team then backup option steps up. Thats why Marshall was a good buy for souths. Reynolds and walker blocked, Marshall can make stuff happen.

Does this model work for Brooks, Doueini and Hastings? Nope.

Not with Brooks at 7, Hastings being 7 and Douehini playing a 5/8 .. who knows what Tyrone peachy will be here? (i suspect lock or 14).

We can have 3 guys fighting for 2 spots no problem. We cant have 2 NR 7's and i think this will mean brooks goes to 5/8 and Doueihi to Center which IMHO is the best result.

This could happen as well but there could be some competition there as well. We have to wait and see what happens. It's going to be interesting.

4 years of hard work to pull an NRL shirt back on. Full of gratitude, can’t wait for the season to kick off. 22.

You’ve been pumped at training. Attitude of working hard as you do, with the ‘want to win’ mindset that you have works volumes.
Absolutely psyched for your debut 🔥
