Jacob Liddle #198

Super Happy about this.

I'm looking forward to watching Liddle become the gun hooker we all think he will be.

is he any good at fantasy?
would b a great cash cow come 2020… how much does he cost?
would he get big minutes?

Good news, but AGAIN just two years. FFS, Tigers - if he's the guy lock him up long term and if he's not let him go. He'll be off contract again at age 24, ie just entering his prime. If we assume 2020 is going to be not massively better than 2019 (as we don't have cap room to make any major signings and the promising juniors are more than a year away) we will get exactly one season of Liddle in a potentially competitive team out of this contract.

Good news. Our retention has been spot on with Mikalele, Aloai, Liddle, MCK extended.

The length of the contract is good he is unproven as an 80 minute hooker and we have serious cap room in by the end of 2021. If he performs up to expectations we can extend it early. If the young QLD hooker turns into a gun we have options.

There seems to be a real strategy about signings and potential releases based on performance. Well done Tigers.

Well said Tyga. How lucky were we to have Cleary drag his backside back to Penrith. There seems to be real football leadership at last.

I like this. We have been losing these types of guys in previous years. May show that the club culture is improving, young guys happy to hang around playing backup until they are ready.

I think it’s a good decision. He’s a good player but has been injury plagued and hasn’t proven that he can play 80 mins in the NRL.

Never saw it coming..I agree 5 years

@TheDaBoss Good signing.
Days of 5 year contracts should be decisions of the past.
He is no certainty to develop further but if he does then we will cross that bridge in 2021.

No, you cross it next year prior to November so that other clubs cannot make an offer

Dud signing.

If he was any good, he'd be a regular first grader rather than being kept in reggies by a senior citizen with a bung neck.

2 years is good very injury prone if his body holds and he is playing well then we need to shell out more in 2 years if not then see ya
