Jacob Miller to Hull?

Millers response re Hull to Anasta was interesting as he gave the impression either he or the Club were having second thoughts about him going.

I thought it even more interesting when I read in the DT today that Benji is being linked to the Dragons. Have the Tigers got wind of this? Are they considering letting him go?

This may be something the WT would consider as it would free up 550k per year in cash and salary cap (enough to pay for Miller ,Sironen and Anasta) It would allow them to focus on retaining Farah whom it could be debated is the real match winner on a more consistent basis.

Is Benji disheartened at the Tigers now Sheens, Ryan, Heighington, Ayshford and who knows who else are going? If so it may be better for all if he moved on. If Sheens goes to the Warriors would Benji follow him home?

I personally could see Miller and Sironen in the halves being mentored by Anasta from a backrow spot (now open with Heighingtons departure) as a viable option for the next few years and beyond.

Don't get me wrong, I love Benji and would hate to see him go and I know this theory is sounding like the Pelican Brief but at this point nothing would surprise me.

I've had similar thoughts and it doesn't seem like a bad option to me, even though Benji's probably given me the most joy to watch in recent years (but also yes plenty of frustration)

but if you're cutting Benji to play two rookie halves you're pretty much admitting the current era is over and it's a rebuilding phase, not expecting success for 2-3 years at least

Was talking to my work mate yesterday (who is a Souths supporter) , and he was telling me he had a beer with Jacob Miller's uncle on Grand final day at Mullumbimby and that as far as he knew he's playing for the Tigers next year.
Just gonna have to wait and see…

Miller according to zerotackle is off contract in 2012

Did he have an option for 2013 that the Tigers have used ??

Or is the 2013 info a load of codswallop

Anyone know for sure ??

I know who I would believe ..and it wouldn't be Humphreys..contract is probably still sitting in his bottom drawer…unsigned

Humphreys is too busy preparing the " short " list of coaching candidates.

Right now, in the scheme of things that are important to the Tigers future, what exact would you rather he be doing?

Honestly , to clean out his desk and walk the plank with Sheens

yeah that would be perfect, perhaps Dave Trodden and Mike Bailey could interview coaching candidates, taht would fill them with confidence and get us the best candidate.

Well i can't confirm anything and the stupid rumours doing the rounds about him going to Hull etc is the reason for me saying just gonna have to wait and see.
All i can tell you is i live 20 kilometres from Mullumbimby and when my mate tells me he had a beer with him there's no reason to lie , cause everyone pretty much knows each other up here so take it how you want for all i care…

Mate half the people on this Forum could interview the candidates , we can see what the club needs

Sheens was making the same mistakes for the last 7 years and Humphrey's has been letting Teflon do what he wanted for the last 3

What makes you think Humphrey's is going to make a great decisions anyway ??

It is all going to come down to who we can afford anyway

I have not much confidence in the CEO Unfortunately ….I thought he was a a great appointment but with what's been going on over the last few years have reservations!

MATE…you have it arse about face....its not going to matter who or what we can afford if no one decent wants to come here. We dont simply interview everyone and pick the one we like. What sort of professional coach would want to come to a club without a CEO? If he doesnt even know who his boss will be?

IN Humpreys run we made the top 4 in consecutive years, the year we missed the 8 he sacked Tim, hardly let Tim do what he wants without consequences.

Goose and Glenn we made the Top 4 despite Humphrey's and Sheens not because of Humphreys and Sheens

Remember who resigned Sheens to an upgraded contract last season when you could see the tip of the iceberg coming . Humphreys

The bloke changes between Arthur and Martha to suit the mood of the sponsors ,supporters and members

I'm not saying we should choose a coach without a CEO , I'm saying we should have hired a new CEO ,then sacked the coach and then chosen a new coach That is making a statement to everyone involved in the club Perform or else Thats what these players need to see The only reason Humphrey's has backed getting rid of Sheens was to save his own bacon

Nothing more or nothing less

Well said Happy..a fish rots at the head and if you want to go further then look at who is responsible for hiring/firing the CEO
