Reading on another forum that Jacob Miller is unhappy with his role at the Tigers and is seeking a release to join the Dragons, apparently he is a little miffed that young Sirro is ahead of him in the pecking order.

I like Miller & think he will turn into a class first grader, but we cant keep them all & @ the moment its young Sirro in first grade & we still have plenty of back with Chisolm, if he does go good luck to the kid but i hope he doesnt go to the Dragqueens.

More class and confidence than Blake.

and despite NRL.com giving him grief for missing tackles this year, Miller last year made a couple of try-savers in FG, and has made some solid hits in defense when called upon - He's no worse that Rob Lui, that's for sure.

People always throw up Lazarus and Mullaney as examples of those who were rated but didn't come through, both altho talented and showing ability were not the top of the tree coming through. They were not overly dominant players in Matthews and Ball, were not in the Aus schools or NSW 16 and 18's sides.
Lazarus also had 2 years of injury at an important development stage. If it wasn't for Coedy Towney's indiscretions it is likely Mullaney would not have played NYC. Undoubtedly he took his chance with both hands and did well, but it doesn't surprise me he has not made the next level.
the likes of Siro, Miller, Tedessco, Noafluma, Woods, Groat have been in all the teams all the way through have been top performers in junior age group football and it stands to reason they are more likely to progress. I have no doubt that all the above players will make it to the NRL somewhere and are a different kettle of fish to Mullaney and Lazarus.

Miller has had 3,4 or 5 starts in FG. He did not show he is NRL standard during these games. In 1 anda bit games sirro has shown much more promise… Just look at the press he is getting.

It has been said a million times, when given the no7 role in FG he only ever got the jumper,he was never given the 7 role to play so you cant ever say he was not good enough or did not stamp himself on the game. He was simply their to play a link man

I love this line. Its not his fault he hasn't looked up to first grade. Its Sheens fault or Robbie's fault or Benji's fault or the forwards fault.

To me he has had plenty of chances - more than other players (Humble, Sirro, Lazarus) and he hasn't looked like a first grader. Now he is young and may turn into a gun player however at this point he hasn't looked good. That is his fault and no one else's.

That's how I see it too. Seems a good kid but didn't do much in his first 5 games. He might be a class above NYC but there are plenty of players in that field who are unfortunately a class below firsts.

I think we all agree that Sheens has a fairly good eye and strategy for implementing juniors, he's hardly put a foot wrong since 2004.

Compare to Siro Jr's first two games, where he has the fans excited and the media taking notice. Unf Miller hasn't done this and that is the difference between the fortunes of both players.

Good luck to him if he gets a run somewhere else first.

There have been plenty of blokes play first grade that couldnt make those rep sides in Matt's and Ball. There have also been plenty of wallabies players who couldn't even make the first XV at their respective schools.
Those junior rep sides mean much, except to say that when he was 16 he was good…

Agree. Some players look made for FG, Sirro is one such player. I've seen Miller do some good things in the NYC, but have not seen him replicate it in FG and he doesn't have the same aura about him as Sirro, IMO.

If Miller was given a run in first grade with the same amount of pressure on him (read none) as Sironen then I reckon he would have done well too. Sironen is a big kid that has a great running game (and other things) while Miller is a small halfback with a great pass and kicking game. Sirro was able to translate his running game into top grade success straight away due to his size while Miller was unable to fit his style of playmaking into our structure in his limited opportunities, due most likely to having two dominant players constantly overcalling him, as opposed to Sironen who plays as an option for the dominant players, completely taking pressure off him. Not to mention Sirro came in while we were on a winning streak and every time Miller has played it's been while we were under the pump. It's chalk and cheese to compare their first grade appearances. Miller has dominated at the junior level even more so than Sironen has and will reach the same heights eventually. Miller's a great young talent but Sirro just suits our first grade side better now that Marshall has found his feet in the 7\. Miller is going to become a 200 game first grader at another club and is at the right age to peak when the Origin jumper becomes vacant too. I definitely see him there in the future.

Like I said earlier I don't know if he will be successful or not however he has had a fair few chances and so far hasn't looked good.

I agree completely with Macdougall ,

But this also highlights that Sironen fits into this team better then miller .

Now with Sirro at 5/8 , I would like to see how Miller would go covering for Benji at half (if Benji was injured) ?

Unfortunately it is going to be tough for him to get the chance with Tom Humble in the team .
