Yep. Hasn't been the same player since the injury. Go and get the shoulder surgery (same as AD) and make sure they are both right for 2027, round 1.Bula should be put on ice until next year. He’s playing injured.

Disagree. Thought he was beyond pedestrian.Thought he was our only dangerous player last night
I don’t recall him runnng hard or combing well at all.Created a line break on 2nd half, ran hard and once Latu was on they combined well
Just no.The 40/20 was clearly the fault of the front line on that side - they new it was kicked Inside the 40 and should have been communicating.
💯Bula should be put on ice until next year. He’s playing injured.
Individually we are being outplayed across all positions, and have for several weeksDisagree. Thought he was beyond pedestrian.

Just no.
Fact is, his poor performances aren’t isolated incidents. They have become his norm.
In the last few weeks alone he’s been shown up by Trai Fuller, Gutherson, Tracey, Tuaupiki and Kini.
Being comprehensively and consistently outplayed by the league’s lower-tier fullbacks, it’s getting more difficult to argue he’s not one of the very bottom-ranked starting fullbacks himself.
Yeah his heart must be hurtingBula should be put on ice until next year. He’s playing injured.
You are generous with the point 4 - following the kicks - I can't recall him scoring off one of those since last year (maybe one this year, if at all). Yep, they are spectacular but ineffective cos he is all in - no thought of tapping back to a support - sorry, "support", my bad - we don't have them anyway! But you are spot on and it's worth a shuffle - too bad AD & Latu are out for the next game.Hers my take on bula , I have broken him up to 4 items
1) returning the ball back , for me he is in the very bottom of fullbacks , can’t remember him making a break .
2) his defence when been the last man is in the bottom 50% of fullbacks
3) his work rate , across all other fullbacks is in the bottom 10%
4) following the kicks throw in the air , he’s right up there with the best
One out of four is not good enough for a player on nearly $1,000,000 a season ,
So here’s my fix , give the kids the 1/2 and 5/8 spot move AD to fullback and stick bula on the wing , AD will work his socks of at fullback , bula can continue to hid , untill the bomb goes up
There is one thing to say he is not talented, but another to then conclude he is a grubIdk why a lot of people think Bula has some unseen, hidden, third coming of Christ talent. I haven't seen any reason to think that in his whole career. This is the peak of Bula, at his highest potential. He's not some Lionel Messi of rugby, if he was, we would've seen glimpses greatness, all I've seen is a weak boy whose only in it for the money, doesn't give a rat's ass for his club or the fans, just an utter grub.
Yeah was a bit uncalled for.. imo Bula is playing injured and down on confidence just like most of the teamThere is one thing to say he is not talented, but another to then conclude he is a grub
I just did a deep dive on this exact topic here. Interesting to get your thoughts on the analysis. CheersYeah was a bit uncalled for.. imo Bula is playing injured and down on confidence just like most of the team
There was a lot to like about him before he got injured earlier in the year
Only because he turns creamy when the heat is on!Bula should be put on ice until next year. He’s playing injured.
I’ll have a proper read tomorrow before work, thanks mate for the insight.I just did a deep dive on this exact topic here. Interesting to get your thoughts on the analysis. Cheers
I reckon many on the forum will laugh at this, but imo Matt Dufty (backup fullback for Souths) is a better fullback then Bula. From my understanding, he doesn't have a contract for next year. The Luai decision showed the club is willing to make difficult calls for the long-term benefit of the team. I'm not saying the Bula extension was an unreasonable decision at the time, but as with Luai, we should not let a previous decision prevent us from changing course if the evidence suggests it isn't working.
The question isn't whether Bula has talent. The question is whether that talent is translating into the type of fullback we need, into the type of consistent performances expected of an effective NRL fullback. At the moment, I don't think it does.
With the club already overhauling the spine, the fullback position deserves the same level of scrutiny as the others.
lol he’s injured . Can’t raise his arm . Same as AD.Another game with zero line breaks, assists, try assists.
He hasn't had any of those since we last played the Bulldogs.
Doesn't know the rules.
Can't catch.
Can't run
Can't pass.
Shocking positional play.
Terrible game awareness.
Weak through the hips.
Weak upper body.
The worst fullback in the NRL.
But sure, let's use the excuse of "playing injured". That explains losing the game in the first minute.
Let's give him another year and another million while they're at it.
I agree.Individually we are being outplayed across all positions, and have for several weeks
I thought the same thing watching the Souths game. Dufty is fast, elusive, backs up the play, and doesn't drop to the ground on the first tackle nine times out of ten. I like Bula and hope there is a good reason for his form slump because we all know he is capable of better.I reckon many on the forum will laugh at this, but imo Matt Dufty (backup fullback for Souths) is a better fullback then Bula.
