OFFICIAL Jahream Bula #269

Then we just need him to learn how to osss a ball without it being premeditated, learn how to kick a ball particularly on the 5th tackle, understand that using a step and acceleration is how you make line breaks, catch and take advantage of contested attacking high balls where he is a head taller than his opponent more than 1 in every 10 and learn how to not be scared of contact.
Once he does all this he will become a genuine 900k to 1 million dollar per season fullback.
The whole team sucks at the moment .., at lease you think Bula is capable of improvement…a number aren’t

Yep … a lot were saying otherwise at 5-2
They must be new to this and have never had the privilege of watching a Tigers team turn to dust over the second half of the year. I remember in 2001-2002, Gus on the Footy Show one time said we’d limp home. That’s become the norm over the last 25 years.

It’s hard to argue …

the faces change but the way things play out remain the same

Bulla and the whole team have lost all confidence , they were all fired up early in the season and once we got injuries it got into their heads , once there it’s hard to get it out , we can’t blame any one player they have all regressed badly and that’s on Benji and his assistants , time to give the assistants the flick and give the young guys like Latu , Andrew’s , and co time in the nrl our young guy Haywood was good last night so keep, giving them some time ( some time ) off the bench , but Latu for me to start at his proper spot in the half’s not a centre or lock or hookers ,

He has 100 almost line breaks, just needs to develop a change of pace from fast to explosive when at the line. He's fast in his fluid running style, just doesn't have that sharp acceleration.
Thought the training with Fabris over summer would rectify that...should getnhis money back...so should Galvin
Fabris seems to be another fraud on the nrl gravy train
Tho he did help Liam Martin

He needs to develop a fend, or be coached how.
Mate you are bang on...i can.picture him every time hes tackled its like a one armed man...i.dare.say team.have this.on their tip sheets as well...wouldnt be surprised if hes usually carrying predominantly in one hand or the other

I never understood the celebration when he re-signed.

A fullback has to have a combination of strength, speed and evasion.
Some can get away with an overload of even just two of those three.

Bula has none of those in his game.
I didn't either when all the speculation was happening, will he take up the option or resign, we should have grabbed Drinkwater and let Gus have him, on way too much coin for what he provides

All the puff pieces about fabri and galvins speed, he doesn’t look any quicker than he was here

I dont know if Bula is the problem here

At the moment …I don’t know who the solution is .,,let’s hope it’s Averillo because currently no one else ( of note) has been signed up ..

Our lack of pace across the team is one of the biggest weaknesses ..Bula aside ..the rest couldn’t run out of sight on a dark night

The Luai decision showed the club is willing to make difficult calls for the long-term benefit of the team. I'm not saying the Bula extension was an unreasonable decision at the time, but as with Luai, we should not let a previous decision prevent us from changing course if the evidence suggests it isn't working.

The question isn't whether Bula has talent. The question is whether that talent is translating into the type of fullback we need, into the type of consistent performances expected of an effective NRL fullback. At the moment, I don't think it does.

With the club already overhauling the spine, the fullback position deserves the same level of scrutiny as the others.

Are they strong minded enough to admit they were clutching at straws re-signing Bula swap him out and put their hands up to another mistake they made
Their mistakes are adding up ,no answers here on how they do it , but a good start might be no more than a 2 year contract

We all wanted him here including me. The majority were nervous he was going bulldogs, relieved he signed. But what an absolute thief. Got his contract and has done nothing since. Tracey looked more dangerous than him. Let that sink in . When was the last time our mate actually made a break, or assisted a try. I would actually put the whole game changing on his stupidity to watch a 40/20 go out. Too scared to run back hard, never there in support . Absolutely useless

Bula might have done a couple of good things in the second half, after I stopped watching, but really he was very ineffective in the first. Half hearted runs back, dropped bomb, ineffective joining backline. He has no step, fend or acceleration to beat a man. He can't create like a 950 mil man should.

Bring Attard up and give him a run, move Bula to the centres,
