Jahream Bula #269

Bula has single handedly saved a few tries in a short career already. Yesterday's efforts were poor based on the highlights I saw, but I really don't get why this kid gets singled out for every single mistake. Do people not watch any other footy?
That game against the star studded Panthers in the wet where he stopped them over and over.

Jeez he's the least of our worries.

Kool. 60, not bad.
How long were you playing for.
Do you remember ya best hand, biggest pot or royal flush?
Depending on stack size, whenever anyone asked to split the final table, I know I got em.
5 hours mate. No real huge hands, just slowly added to my stack as the tournament went on. Happy to cash, the last tournament I played I busted in 4th and top 3 got paid. There is a tournament I qualified for at the end of April with a $10k prize pool, will try my luck it will be a much bigger field.

Sweet, good luck on the next one. Let me know.
It’s the one thing I miss about living in Sydney.

Bula's offense and defence tonight was abysmal. I have never in my life seen a player so scared to commit to a tackle, a few times there I saw dogshit Bula not even attempt to tackle the eel's players like when Dylan Brown made a line break Bula didn't even throw an arm out, he almost ran away from him. Never have I EVER been so appalled by a player's performance as I was today. Bula's reputation is forever in the mud utterly ruined, I hate him, immediately send him to the black birds with Galvin.

There was a set in the second half where we were defending on our line and he made 4 tackles in a row, most one on one and against forwards. He has some errors in him and defensive misreads but I completely disagree with that assessment.

IMHO, he was one of our best players, along with Pole and Twal.

Onya Tommy 😉

Richo and Benji need to sit down with Bula asap and find out if he is keen on re-signing. If wants to test his value or be non-committal like Galvin, then we cut our losses and look for a new fullback. I'd hate to see Bula go, but if it means we rid ourselves of Moses and prevent another circus, then so be it. Bula is a good player but I'm not gonna cry myself to sleep if he leaves. How can WTs ever negotiate with Moses again after the current shit fight.

He is contracted for another 2.5 years, would be very premature

Might have to wait and see unfortunately. A week is a long time for WT

Interesting take. His defence does seem to have dipped a little but his offence has been great and even on Monday he was consistently looking dangerous. Even Mitch Moses at half time said they need to watch him because he was tearing them apart.

Dont think their is Fullback in the game that is selected on the back of his good D. They all get found out and more so when team is dominated. I think I've seen TT make a handful of effective tackles in his career but out of sight in D on too many occasions when Manly are dominated - still the first player picked when fit.

So

Sooooo….in the middle of a club crisis on key player retention you are proposing that we stir up a hypothetical problem to see if we can make it todays problem?

Is this like a maths thing? Like when you get two negatives and add them together so they cancel out? Please tell us more about how more problems at once helps?

Player retention is not a hypothetical. All clubs do it and WTs need to be better at it. It's not about creating more problems at once or stiring up a hypothetical problem, it's about determining our future direction regarding players and filling key positions. Maintaining dialogue with our players over the course of their contract should never be an underestimated part of the process and I'd hope Richo and Benji are doing/improving in this area.
