Jahream Bula #269

Bula was so poor today one of his usual performances. I'd love to see a young talent like Heath Mason get the call up and replace Bula. Tonight, he let in 2 tries its absurd.
He was poor today but I wouldn't go that far. Mason drops at least two bombs a game.

What makes Bula infuriating is that he can actually defend. He just chooses not to or gives minimal effort.

If he defended like he did in his first season combined with his attack this year, he'd be a top 5 FB in the comp.

Bula was poor ? He saved like 2 tries , maybe 3, and ran himself into the ground . Also he was there to put pressure on Kennedy to almost win us the game . He turns up in the big moments . I thought he was great today .

Mason yeah, he might drop one or two a game but at least he can defend, after few games I'm sure he'd adjust to the pressure of nrl and stop making such errors. Mason is a far superior to Bula.

He didn't save tries, he basically handed them to the opposition with he made his standard weak effort any time the Sharks made a break and scored.

Agreed that he was good in attack as he has been throughout the season but go back and watch the game and several other. His positioning and effort defensively is very poor which is frustrating because he was very good in his first season.

I don’t know what game you were watching but here’s 3 tries he saved .
Mulitalo on the try line . Came across and knocked the ball out .
Kennedy line break tackled himself around the 40 , and was tracking on the next tackle on the other side of the field to stop the kick in behind .
The matching winning play where he charged the ball down , and then chased it down to force Kennedy to knock it on .
There was one more but it’s slipping my mind right now .
he competed and was in the frame more often than not . Exactly what I would want from my fullback if I was his coach .

Notice how everything you just said was in the last few minutes of the game. Clearly you have a long term memory problem. What about the other 75 minutes can you remember them. All you guys seem to remember are the ends of games.

The mulitalo tackle was early first half .
Litterally I’m going off the top of my head here , and obviously more to your point , yes I’m only talking about 1 half of footy . I’m sure there’s heaps more positive things I could go back and scrutinise .
It’s like because he missed Mulitalo on that break tour but hurt over it . Most of the world misses Mulitalo in that moment .
All you’re proving is your lack of knowledge of footy .

Ronaldo was surrounded by 3 of our players he could only go forward and Bula dove to Ronaldo's left when it was already covered. If you can't remember it's fine just rewatch the highlights.

Hahahaha omg so it is literally over 1 line break ? Jesus Christ …..
no , I watch Joe he covers tackles on the line when the other teams decide to crash a AFB into the line , he gets put on his arse , saves a try , peels out the back , then tracks behind to affect the half to make a wrong decision over and over again . ! I watch how our defensive line is now for the first time in ages , manning up , and counting the numbers and reducing overlaps .
I watch how he tracks back and is always around the ball on kick returns and tracking through the middle waiting for opportunities , but not crowding the ball carrier to allows for space on the edges .
So you want me to keep going ?
Riculous …

I will say that Bula does get killed a lot on an inside step when he’s last line of defence, but that’s something he can adjust and get better at, his potential EASILY outweighs a simple defensive error. If you can’t see that then… great under the high ball this year and has found his voice at the back. Hasn’t even played 50 games yet.

People have just been blessed with slater for the last 20 years and it’s thrown their expectations way off . If you’re relying on your fullback to make crucial one on ones there’s huge issues in your defence .
Most fullback get beat either 2 on 1 or whatever more often than not .

Game went for nearly 90 minutes, Alexes...

Clearly you have short term memory issues.
