Jahream Bula #269

One would have thought if Bula was going to cement his credentials for the option extension we would have seen tangible results this year . I am certainly not convinced we are not at the right price .

Was he ? You tell me… was Scott Fulton there as well ?

Bit of a shit show hey? Now we just have your man Richo… seems he is doing the job of three people .. no wonder he gets paid so much money
Both Marshall and Fulton were at the club when Sullivan was recruited. After Fulton was sacked he said that he wasn't responsible for Sullivan's signing as it was Marshall pushing him to bring him to the club and part of their issues is Marshall had his own ideas about whom he wanted to recruit which didn't fit in with the roster he was trying to build.
I think it's fair to say that Sullivan's recruitment was on Marshall but also Fulton is probably a dumbass if he isn't liaising with the coach about recruiting a roster to fit the coach's vision.

If anyone believes the Dogs are operating within the salary cap rules ,,,then Ive got a bridge to sell you
They will punt Tracey and Burton in a heartbeat regardless of contractual status...and short odds on thats where he will end up

That's fine i say. So many good fullbacks will be stuck behind first choice fullbacks for 75% of clubs. Spoilt for choices.

To be honest for $900k you expect a Edwards, Tedesco, Turbo, Papenhuzen

Big clubs dont over pay for potential.
If Bula wants to stay then ok, but i think we are wanting to stick with him then we should setup a new contract thats much longer but for less. Maybe a contract where he gets 750k for 2 years and every year after that it goes up by 50k.

The reality is even if the bulldogs have "unlimited" cap space no one is stupid enough to overpay for a player that only a handful of clubs want.

Its a really shitty year to be an off contract FB

Because Fulton said something doesn’t make it true… I doubt anyone is going to publicly take ownership for that decision…I’ll bet he didn’t admit to wanting to pay Schuster $1.2m a year either, which we are led to believe Benji actually prevented …also…who was the final decision maker on how much to pay for Sullivan ? I’m going to say that was ultimately Pascoe as he had the responsibility of the salary cap…
