Jahream Bula #269

Good running game, reasonable defence at the back, horrible under the high ball. We aint making the semis with him at 1.. No thanks !
I think if he doesn't want to sign up long term, take up the option, test out Brookes, Javron Andrews, the panthers kid, and a few others in the position, then let him go at the end of the option.
I reckon young fullback Isdale is special; obviously he is 2-3 years away.
Isaac Moses is going to be an ongoing problem with Bula..who is not exactly elite atm.Hes not Teddy..far from it.Neds more effort in vback up line breaks and defence where we get a lot of tries scored against us in the corners and hes 10 metres away
If hes not committed,Im prepared to roll the dice with our option for 2027 and see who we can identify for 28 that wont be such a challenge

Are those who want Bula and Pole to leave the same ones that wanted, at that time, Tededsco and Papenhuyzen to leave? 🤔

I dont get the hate for moses , he is there to get his client the best deal possible .
More fool them the client/player if the don't talk to both the agent and club/s in person
Its nobodies decision but Bula's when /if /where he signs but his and he has quite some time yet to decide his future .

According to Sheens 50 games and. You can call yourself a first grader...hes only just passed that but the deficiencies you highlited really need to start.to be addressed.
He still has a long way to go and we have t got forever

Sheens gave him an easy apprenticeship in the lower grades ,to just stay and slide on our line and watch how the game unfolds in front of his eyes, gave him other tools to work with
Is our club that crap as some say , we don't develop anything past raw talent ,
Theres a lot yet to desire

you had me right up until , have t got forever

Godinet is from the same Issuc Moses stable. And Godinet is not elite either, just a little over hyped ATM.
Can only see a future problem if he turns out anywhere near a decent player, demanding crazy dollars.
Same same
I'm will draw riducous demsbs and with draw u in a heartbeat
Unless the player committ...they won't be here and we need to plan accordingly

Hes not Teddy..far from it.

No he's not far from teddy at all. Teddy had 90 games with us not 50.(where bula is at now). It was only until late 2016 early 2017 that teddy really began to show his stripes as a legit first grader week in week out, and then went on to a whole other level afterwards when he joined the Roosters.

I think people forget the huge injury doubts over Teddy. He did his ACLs (left and right) in his first two seasons and his knee in his third. It wasn't until 2016 that he really put in a solid full season. It can take time.

No doubt. I dont want Bula to leave, he is class. Just saying I wouldn’t spend 1mil plus on a fullback outside the current squad. If we do then we might be waving goodbye to the next lot of kids.
It's ok to wave goodbye to the next lot of kids. IF you are signing up the next Tedesco or DCE.

Bula hits that boundary call. Heck I know I have flip flopped on signing and releasing him.

Which probably means we should let him go. That said, we don't have anyone better at the moment and we can wait.

Im completely on board with this, but only if tino has an off-season playing there under his belt.

He wanted to play fullback when he came here as an option

He's a much better option then Mason and Tino will more then like play a few games there this year he was the only back to play the full 24 games last year and play 5ish at fullback last year

As I have said many times before, are we just hopeless at developing players or is Bula just a slow learner.

For God's sake we have a top line ex fullback as an assistant coach, what the hell is wrong.

I know many have questioned Hodgson's ability as a coach in the past, but surely he would have to be looking at Bula's game and pointing out at least some of the short comings in areas of his full back play.

Maybe he needs some help from Billy Slater minus the grub plays of course because as a Wests Tigers player he would never get away with that. 🤣

If Bula is worth 900k, how much is sua faalogo worth? Based on tigers rates, we'd probably be paying him $1.3 - $1.4m. I wonder what the Storm are paying him?
Not knocking Faalogo (the kid is lightning fast), but I reckon Bula would look unbelievable at Melbourne too. Hell, even Tyrell Sloan probably would. The footy IQ of Grant, Munster and Hughes, combined with Bellamy's elite coaching system, means if you've got talent, you shine at the Storm.

He also can’t tackle . Every time the eels made a break nearly to a man Sua got beat , not just one on one , but really easily. Ina game like last night , it will be a lot of “Wows and he’s amazing !” , but Paps and Obviously slater before him , were amazing in cover defence and organising the line .
I think people should reserve judgement until a close match . Because his defence is honestly not much better than Heath Mason a year ago . I hope it’s against us , because we can get in behind the line pretty often .
I’d be concerned if I was apart of the storm coaching staff . Sometimes a 50 point win can hide heaps of things .
Also the eels edge defence is a joke , especially around thier edge backrowers .
The knock of Kautoga was always his defence and his reads . He hasn’t got there yet .
