Jahream Bula #269

But my point is … they weren’t the issue last week .., it was the halves not being able to create sufficient opportunities
Please.
Top quality outside backs (1-5) create their own opportunities.
I don’t see Walsh sitting back waiting for his halves to do something.
Watch the Broncos first try against the Storm last Friday night.
After the Broncos having a bludger of a first half and scoring no points, Walsh took it upon himself to get the ball as first receiver, look to take on the line at speed and once the opposing defenders were committed to him it was an easy pass to Jordan Riki who was one on one with an opponent close to the try line.
It’s not rocket science, that’s what a good fullback does when his team is struggling to score a try.

Cmon man … Walsh is one of the best players in the comp..😂…no kidding he is going to set up tries …

I’d be happy to swap Katoa from the Dolphins and Munster for our two halves ,,.do you think the other teams will go for that ..😂

They will not be interested in swapping their fullbacks for ours.

Very rare for NTth Qld players to come to Sydney - let alone to WTs - not sure why Purdue was even a discussion on here.
We need to be able to retain players instead of talking pie in the sky.
The whole point of this argument is that if we were willing to spend close to 1 million dollars per season on re-signing Bula long term, we would be much better off and become a much better attacking team by signing Purdue on the same money.
Sone people wanted to argue and claim Bula is the better player, those people are off with the fairies.
IF we offered Purdue 1 million per season and he rejected it then so be it, at least we tried to improve ourselves.
Purdue is from Mackay, not North Queensland and my information from a mate who lives in Mackay is that Purdue is very open to a move to Sydney if the money is right.
If that is not an option than obviously it would be nice to re-sign Bula, but he has not yet shown the individual brilliance this season to command a long term 900k or higher contract.
Are we suggesting we just pay him 900k or higher on a long term contract anyway, even if we have no proof to show he is an elite match winning fullback?

There’s nothing to suggest the club has looked at him though so it’s a pipe dream

Still sounds pie in the sky V. If we lose Bula the chances of us getting an equal or better replacement rarely comes off. We have a player in our system that the coach wants if we are ever going to move forward as a club we have got to figure out how to keep them. Can guarantee if Bula goes he will reach his potential elsewhere. This is singly the most frustrating problem this club faces and sends a bad message for all players considering where to sign.

No he’s contracted to the Dolphins for quite a few more years.
You need to have realistic expectations.

He is signed until the end of 2028 so he will be on the market in 18 months … I wanna keep spruiking him over time like you have with your guy.

I think we will both end up with the same result though
