Jahream Bula #269

I watched the May Podcast last night, where Bula was the Guest. There was a short segment of the interview regarding his future. He said absolutely nothing when May told him all the boys love him and want him to stay. Big opportunity to say something ,but he didn't. Reading between the lines,Id say he is gone......

He would be putting himself at a disadvantage if he openly said he wants to stay.

Players have a limited window to maximise their earnings, so they need to approach negotiations strategically. While he may genuinely prefer to stay at the club, he also needs to create leverage to secure the best possible deal.

If he commits too early, the club has no pressure to increase their offer and may settle around $800K. However, if there is credible interest from other clubs, it introduces competition and forces the club to either match or exceed those offers.

It's not nice, but thats world we live in and I'm sure his manager advises this.

I think they've simply given him time to up his $$$'s by showing it on the field.

I don't doubt he has received an offer, however it could be absolute rubbish and Tracey is being played by being offered unders, that way Gus can say we wanted to keep him and made him an offer, where in reality they are showing him the door. If the offer was any good it would have been signed immediately.

The fact they are even doing this publicly tells me that there something else going on here.
Yep you could be right there....

Shaun (CEO) was on SEN. Got asked directly about the Bula situation.

Said something along the lines of all the conversations are regular & positive & it's an interesting one given all the clauses he/the club has. But gave nothing away.

I also remember Shaun being quoted in the off season that he expected the Bula signing to be done before Round 1....

I heard from a nrl player last week that bula was going to dogs.
Now that Tracey is being signed i would think not, however it is Gould so never too sure.
Mail probably wrong on this one
Why would he want to leave the great camaraderie he has here to go and join that sinking ship of unhappy players. I know he is good friends with Galvin but does he really love him that much?

He knows that the club has 2 deals on the table and bulla has not taken either , to me that says a lot and these offers are not a few days old they are weeks old , mosses would already have clubs chatting about bulla heading to them , what they can offer eg /
Hay Mr Mosses we are looking for a fullback , quality , young , will do 4 year deal , good wages and conditions plus we can also get extras on the side like we do with other players in our team , do you have a fullback available , Mosses yes I do and he is not taking up his current club offers as yet , they are good offers at $ near a mill a season , that simple
My speculation is Dogs are pressing so offered (low balled)Tracey publically to speed up the decision

If he leaves i think it could potentially be a culture thing. But i reckon its going to be the same no matter where he goes, unless he can play for a church team.

I’m sorta serious with this …. Im wondering if PNG may appeal to him to do so missionary type work there for his church …

Having listened to the podcast in full, I dont know how people are drawing conclusions like "he doesnt care about the tigers". Nothing was said to suggest this.

Terrell spoke said they wont talk about the contract scenario, but he and Tiny want him to stay. That the whole playing group would be upset if he left. Bula said he appreciated it.

Bula talked about the importance of faith and he goes to church with Pole. His motivation is being able to provide for his young family and buy a house.

There were references to uncomfortable situations and how the music being played in the gym doesnt align with his faith.

The poddy didnt give me any clarity on the contract scenario, but definitely highlighted how religious he is.
Good summary of the talking points here.

I can understand where he is coming from though. If the is music about beaches, hoes or drugs.. then its fair enough if he doesnt like it. Idk what they play at training so I am just guessing.

Terrell spoke so highly of Bula... he mentioned that a few times when Bula does feel the need to address something, everyone listens. I hope he can see that its his calling to be a leader to our boys..he is where he needs to be.

One of my favourite fire up songs before a match used to be 2pac - hit em up.. a front rower i played with preferred hanson - mmmbop. Our differences are what make life interesting.
I was shit stirring hooker/half who had to take his piercings out before a game and went to punk gigs after. I would have been repeatedly belted on the field if it wasn't for my Miley Cyrus loving front rower.
