Well I think Bula is at 700k at the moment, agreed not 900k.

Jock Madden has been covering and where there was a gap on our wing I saw him fly across and cover. Ok try was still scored, but impressive for a halfback.
The guy plays a little like Ben Kimmorley or Mitchell Pearce...In everything... Which at a club level is great.

Ill say it again, if we have to choose and we do have to choose. I would be ready to offer Makasini Bula's 900k for 4 years.

Just we have approx 11m cap (I may be off).

We have Luai signed for 1.2, Jock + AD at around 700, Several Fainu's I think Sione was 500k and Samuela will be 700k... KPP 600-700k, Terrell May, etc.

Do we have the cap room to sign both Bula and Makasini if Makasini turns out to be the gun we expect him to be?

900k is market price for Bula, I suspect his actual value is 700-800. I just don't see how we can offer him that and keep the funds for our talent coming through.

For once our "talent" is IMHO worth keeping.

I reckon Seyfarth is a chance at a release. Not playing much footy atm and if Sukkar keeps developing there will be comp for his spot. I think he's on more coin than you'd think and Perth and PNG are going to need to sign someone.

The cap will increase with the new TV deal.

Locking players in now on less could be a good thing if the cap goes up.

The Cap will go up and so will either Bula's contract or Issac Moses's demands.

Sure ordinary managers will either leave the situation alone, or quietly talk with the club or just not botch the contract in the first place... i.e.
"We want 9.5% of the total cap which is 900k per year at the moment".

Issac, it will be screaming, whinging and dramas. He will try to punt Bula and we do it all again.

No Moses, no dramaz.
 
If we win and we will against the knights and bulla has a good game he needs to make the call , this is just dragging on now , 2 contracts plus a winning football team that has improved 150% , team looks to be enjoying them selves , coach seems like he has the players doing what he ask , there is no reason for bulla to keep doing what he is doing to himself and the club , if he wants to go say dogs , just rock up and tell the coach I’m heading to the dogs I’ve made my decision , this way we can also plan our next move with a player to come in or what ever , Mosses is a total grub and we should cut all ties with him as it don’t work for the club with his and Benji issue , mosses dictates to much and bulla is a sheep , no class at all , the dogs grabbed his wife to make the play so just get it over with

The WT are never gunna cut ties with Isaac Moses … he gets results for players and they are gunna use him … lot of players think this is just a well paying gig and have no particular ties to which team is depositing the pay every month ..they all know and are mates each other and joke around after the games and pray together .. I think they feel pretty comfortable anywhere these days ..Bula isn’t on his own there

However - I don’t want the club trying to trade “favour for favour” like Manly and others are doing where you need to sign his crappy players he can’t move on anywhere else … I would rather lose a player like Bula then get trapped into that

Bula is a solid First Grader but not shown enough this year already to demand $900 a year.
There is 2 guys in our lower grades that deserve a crack next season if Bula moves on.

I think that's why every time I think of Bula it's:

Good, not great.

as people say: Drinkwater, Ponga, Walsh, RTS, Teddy, Turbo... all if it's their day can win a game for your team.

Bula isn't making mistakes. Solid in fullback when you really want a spark back there. That said, we are winning games.

I really don't want to disturb our team... Bula though hasn't shown so far that he is a fullback to take us to a top 4 position.

Case in point in the souffs game, Bula had a good chance to score a match winner and got out leaped by Jye Gray lol.

It’s moments like that which separate him from the elite. I still think he is the perfect fit for our team but he really should be winning those moments

Bit rough mate. He’s nabbed a few tries like that in his career. No player times that leap perfectly every time.

The whole game seems to not understand how much of a lottery a kick contest is. It happens at real speed, not in slow motion.
