Jahream Bula #269

You can make a case for anything at the end of the day…

That doesn’t look like a premiership winning backline either to me

they will probably both be there still in 2027 whilst Bula plays out his option here
Gus has this ability to move on players they do not want. Xerri would probably be who they do not want.

say Bula comes out and says he is going to the dogs for 2028, I doubt Benji keeps him here for 2027, he would look to use the cash for someone else.
That is probably why we have apparently been in discussion with tyrell Sloane from dragons.
Who knows he might be a stop gap for a year until maybe Attard is ready or someone else comes on the market. Or does the club look at a will Kennedy

I’m sure the plan would be to keep him here another year over say Sloane for example …much better player ..

Benji will think they can win the premiership next season …he won’t be weakening the team if he can avoid it

This Bulla thing is all over media , Hooper ,kenty , 360 and others all talking about it , can see this derailing is again if it’s not sorted quick , club needs to secure May Snr straight away then follow it up with Bulla a few days later and shut the shit down in the media , if not we will suffer
Totally agree, unfortunately his Manager mosses will love to derail our season again. I think our tough stance regarding Mr Mosses will come back and bit us on the AS?.

some media outlet came out with something that we were looking at Sloane, not sure if it was Riccio, all with a grain of salt with what you get from the media though.
do you want a player here that doesnt want to be here, if he signs elsewhere for 2028.. not sure

I don't think he has any intention of doing a deal with the Dragons but he - Moses - is attempting to put the same crap out about wanting to play under a "different coach" - re Flannagan. That didn't come from Bula but suddenly blokes in the media are aware of it.
We saw how that sort talk unsettled the squad last year and got Galvin an early release and I hope that they wise up to the scum bag and his low life tactics.

Galvin had to force his way out …

He had to accuse Benji of basically coaching malpractice …and stand up in front of the whole playing group and tell them why he wanted out ..

I don’t see Bula doing stuff like that to get out a year early ,,

Exactly ..other media says that The Bulldogs don’t want Bula …

I’ll hang onto Bula one more season if the alternative is Sloane …. Other players seem to play out contracts at other clubs after they sign elsewhere … Luai won a premiership at Penrith

A week ago no media were suggesting bula was going to dogs or anywhere. They re-sign Tracey and the media talk all resumes re bula.
Drums are beating at belmore believe me, one re-signing doesnt mean anything re dogs not getting bula. They have dropped Xerri once already

that is true, he may keep bula if he does go in 2028
not sure how we all feel if he plays in his style and has some sub par games, this place will meltdown

Neither do I, but the talk doesn't have to come from him to still cause a distraction.
There is nothing from him that suggests he wants to be anywhere yet somehow "media " know otherwise.
Taking up the option might be in our best interest but if it isn't in Moses you can guarantee that he will continue to make things difficult.

Dragons' conundrum: Keep Flanagan to sign Jahream Bula? #NRL #RugbyLeague https://share.google/ae2i35IhIvkkhGTJO

Why does he want to play for Flanagan?

Why would he join a team that hasn't really started rebuilding yet, with veterans past their used by date on their books as a stop gap & players fleeing Kogarah like rats escaping a sinking ship? Why would he go.there if they secure Drinkwater?

It can only be his **** of a manager, who seems to hate the Wests Tigers, pushing him towards leaving what is now one of the hottest teams in the NRL. Unlike Romy coming to Wests Tigers when they were down, you can't build a club around a fullback, no matter how good he is.

I wish Bulla would make his intentions clear NOW so the club can move forward.
Maybe Flanno does not allow the players to play music with rude words...seems to be a bit of an issue for Bula. I'm guessing he does not allow the players to play any type of music.

I think a lot of people are trying to read the tea leaves after Gus latest commentary about Bula and trying to tie it into what happened with Galvin ..Bula and Galvin are different people and have different motivations

I expect Benji to keep Bula next year …it will be his call at the end of the day ,..not the interim CEO,… he hates Moses and is trying to win a premiership…so he has some incentive there

Benji also knows Bula better than you or I and will know if he thinks he will continue to put in next season even if he signs elsewhere …what happens on the forum will be the furthest thing from his mind

I don’t agree, you’re comparing apples to oranges. I work in music and media, and those industries can extend through to retirement.

Sport, on the other hand generally has a use by date for most players.

It’s no longer the 1960s, so the Elvis reference is irrelevant.
An example of what can happen, ok, try the Guy Sebastian case.

What’s Marshall want to do at the end of the day regarding the option ? You think he will pick it up …give himself another year to replace Bula …
Depends on whether he thinks Bula can stay totally committed for another 18 months
Wldnt be an issue if Moses was not his manager agitating in the background

Well ..as I said Benji knows him better than you or I …Bula looked pretty happy after that game last week …how much of a hurry is he to get over to Gus, Ciraldo and Galvin ? He will be getting paid $900k on the option …not bad money for a final year farewell to the club that gave him his opportunity

Thats what is considered a reasonable response...which unfortunately doesnt apply when Moses is steering the ship
We seem to have offered him less for a medium /long term deal than the $900k one year club option, which is a little challenging to commit to
Temptation for Bula is to take the club option and do this all again in 12 mths time, which is less than ideal for WTs..dont wanna do this again in a hurry
..and how we didnt manage to snare his wife, who is now signed with the Dogs,is also an unhelpful issue for the family

Dont think his wife is signed with the dogs or any other NRLW team.

If he doesn’t extend this year , then he is as good as gone come 2028 …I doubt they will even bother to put in another offer …

Just spoke to the guy I know who works for the Dogs...I asked for an update on the Bula situation. He told me due to the current hype around Bula and being linked to the Dogs, he is unwilling to add to any further speculation by commenting further....I pushed him hard, but he did not waver....Not sure what to make of his reply....but draw your own conclusions
