Jahream Bula #269

Every cent over what the club has valued Bula’s value at has to come off another contract. So if we get into a bidding war and forced to pay an extra 100g or more that money makes it harder to re sign players or go into the market place. Like others have said, take up our option and refuse any moves from the Dogs or who ever for a early release, and develop or recruit a replacement.

It has to be remembered, Bula is a class footballer but not a generational talent

Yeah … agree …. If he won’t sign an extension, they need to keep him next year on the option to buy more time for a longer term solution…

from a very long way away… he seems the type to keep on having a dig before he moves on ..

He is turning into an above average, not elite footballer ,…he isn’t the next coming of Tedesco …. He has played 60 games now ..so I think what we see if close to his ceiling ..

I think it would be a good idea from Maccas to sponsor him for an Apple Pie commercial

Maybe Bula walking up to the counter looking at the menu his eyes drop and looks up and see's Gus standing in front of him in uniform ready to take his order but hands him an Apple Pie

Do they have cream at MacDonalds haven't been there in almost 15 years

This is what I've been told by a very good source:

Bula's former manager. LA, is leveraging his right to a slice of Bula's extension, as well as negotiated 3rd party deals, to influence his current manager, IM, into talking to the Dogs post November. If Bula takes up the option, he owes LA over 100k, ( including a percentage of 3rd parties ) . That is now negotiable.

Even if Bula takes up the 1 year option, Dogs believe they will sign Bula for 2028, and negotiate an early release for 2027.

Contrary to popular belief, IM also gets a slice of all Bula's future earnings, which includes the previously negotiated extension, so 900k is getting smaller by the minute.

Bula's preference is to stay at WT, but it will cost him around 200k to not at least talk to the Dogs come November.

And we all though IM was a snake! Got nothing on Gus.
Thanks for the mail mate.
Something doesn't add up though. We activate the extension and Bula loses a cut to both leeches. However, the very next day he can sign a 3 year extension from 2028 with us and LA wouldnt be a party to it or hve any leverage.

He can do whatever he likes and look after he and his family.

I just hope he is respectful and transparent with the club (which I assume he is) about his intentions.

If he wants to test the market, so be it as long as we know where we stand.

I hope the club is working hard behind the scenes to retain the core of this group, that is May’s and Fainu’s. They’re priority no. 1. Other pieces will fall into place

All Bula has todo is sack his manager/s and negotiate his next deal by himself...Sounds like they are both leaches!

What a simple solution.
Maybe the leeches have some fine print clauses in there. eg can't be sacked without 2 years notice. Ha ha
Do the players have a lawyer check their contracts before they sign up to anything?
Sounds messy or everyone is playing hardball.

Youd have to think our one year option @$900k is pretty clean from a legal perspective
Its more than what we originally believed hes worth.but the market is rapidly evolving and realistically its fair value, particularly given we have nobody else to wear that jersey next year
Cant believe we offered him a longer term contract at less than that price ..huge disincentive for him
We shld definitely take up the option ,and concurrently identify his replacement if he wont commit beyond 2027

All player managers are blood suckers, just some gorge themselves to the point of exploding.

Never dug into it but they would have some kind of payout clause you can bet your life, it's a murky area of the game that should have been cleaned up years ago.

It should never have reached a point where these people could draw media attention over the game itself, it should be done out of the spotlight.
