Jai Arrow

While I think it would be great for the NRL to be there for him with things dedicating a round for him, should Nathan Merritt not feel slighted? He was sad news for a day then was forgotten. I get Arrow was still an active player, but Merritt is just as high profile.

Merritt wouldnt feel slighted.

Theyre probably supporting each other

The pro sports psychology side of things - being able to keep focussed and playing when victory is gone would be helpful for them both...maybe not medically but day to day mental.health wise...they wont be counting or comparing

Forgotten in the media, not by the club

Neale Daniher, AFL player and MND campaigner has lost his battle today (aged 65)

He and his family have done a great job since his diagnosis raising awareness and fundraising for MND. He was diagnosed in 2013
13 years must be a record with that illness.

Just following on from discussion re Merritt as well, and don't mean to sound insensitive here at all but I think NDIS will take care of most of the costs associated with their every day living. This is what it was made for. Happy for someone to correct me if I'm wrong? I don't think NRL can do much to help?

On the other hand though, when the time comes, or even if it might be now, the NRL can take their help in raising awareness. Early diagnosis is so important when it comes to neurological or neurodegenerative conditions, especially the ones that affect your motor function.

I hope through NRL, they can raise awareness and even if one kid or one adult gets diagnosed early enough, doesn't have to be MND, could be Parkinson's, CP whatever it is, the earlier we can prpvide support the better.

I'm sure both Nathan and Jai aren't really thinking about all that right now, but I hope someone from NRL reaches out to them for this.

All said and done, I do wish Jai and his family the best in dealing with this. It's a tough battle already but even worse doing it in a public way.
