OFFICIAL Jake Averillo #?

Come on mate the poor dude hasn't pulled on a jumper for us yet and you're out looking for a scary black cat as a welcoming gift, wait till he has some crap games for doubt to enter your mind you never know he might surprise.

We have been screaming out for speed and now we have some at right centre, the position everyone's has pointed out as a glaring weakness.
Don't think so Steve. No black cats here - simply know what the forum is like and output vs salary will be low/average. Compare with Taylan May on similar money, and you might understand the lens through which I make my comment.

Should never of been 4 years.

3 yrs you could live with for the amount we are giving him.

Going to be another Mbye, Klemmer, josh Reynolds, etc - where the club didn’t want him, and we pay overs PLUS 4 years….

The 4th year is always the problem when players are a 50/50 of meeting their price expectation

At least 3 yrs
- first year you test out
If shit - then really only left with one more year bc in the last year they know you ain’t extending so try and get another 2/3 yr deal elsewhere.

Whereas we are stuck with this dude for 3 yrs if he is not meeting the salary

He was never going to be. One dumbass journo comment then a few posters on here who love to troll and complain were using it as gospel. Javon Andrews is the man who will replace Luai. Kid is going to be a star
Exactly , they are absolutely suppliyong speed and power centres for Javon and Latu to use out wide when they put Jake and Taylan into holes to the tryline arrivba!

Whinge whinge bloody whinge

Gotta give the guy a chance , what I have seen and it is limited of Jake is a fairly decent player , and what I’ve seen puts him above Toa , Herbert , Macca , Macca only young but I can see this ,
Left side - May Jnr , Macca , Sam F
Right side - Jake - Turuva - KPP
That’s better than out best this year , stronger , anyway we wait and see about 6 games in next year see how he is going , Dunster is also a strong back up so happy days

did you whinge with Mbye, Klemmer or Reynolds or did you say "Oh well, sometimes these things happen - like paying overs for a player that their club didnt want and then giving them a long contract, even though we had leverage, and has ben injury prone, unreliable, and inconsistent" ??

Dolphins wanted to keep Jake
& 3 other clubs were in for him so don’t know how we had all the leverage?

I’m meh with the signing.
He has speed and will be an absolute threat if we use him properly.

My meh is will his body hold up and defensively he has had challenges.

We could’ve done alot worse however and is an upgrade on Toa.

He has been a regular starter until he broke his hand earlier this year …this is his first week back available for selection..

the last 2 seasons he has played 47 of 48 NRL games for them ..
That's really good because it was mentioned somewhere that he was injury prone

Why you picking players at random ?
did you whinge when they picked up Sam Fainu, KPP and Taylan May ?

Prior to this current hand injury. Averillo played 47 out of 48 games for the Phins. This season scored 6 in 7. And is only 25 years old. And we're not paying massive overs IMO. $500-$600 is market rate for a starting centre. Cap goes to 12.1 million next year and is anticipated to rise quite a bit next TV rights deal due to extra teams and games. This is a totally different situation.
