I'm not deluded at all either. Go and read the stats again. The top teams had better attack. Keep arguing something differently if you want. The stats are clear.

You are being very nebulous. Are you quoting the stats I presented?

Top teams had better attack than whom? Than lower teams? Of course they did, they are the top teams.

But they had MORE BETTER defence.

And the more "top team" you are, the MORE BETTER your defence is. But not necessarily more better attack.

St George were minor premiers in 2010 with the 8th best attack in the league.

C'mon there is a rusty cog in your brain somewhere, surely it will click soon?

All the top teams had better attack. The defence does rest.

Sometimes I want to be wrong on here. Just to change things up.

At this point, I can't tell if you're genuinely deluded or just playing along for fun. I lean towards deluded.

Started out serious but when normal people (like you) can't believe how dumb he is he pretends he's trolling.

Geez - there are some angry ants on here. One thing I'm not is dumb.

I'm not deluded at all either. Go and read the stats again. The top teams had better attack. Keep arguing something differently if you want. The stats are clear.

I'm not angry at all. Just trying to decide if you are unable to interpret the stats or willfully ignoring them.

Yes, the premiers had better than average attack stats, but ranked much higher in defence.

If you're not dumb or deluded, I think you're just afraid to admit the pattern because it goes against your anti-Taylorball feelings. And that's OK. We all have emotional responses and stats aren't everything, but it's silly to say the figures support your argument when they clearly don't.

(In your defence, I think most everyone understands that attacking prowess can have a strong influence over a team's defensive stats.)

Getting back on topic, I'd love to see a photo of Idris soon looking like a beast with hardly an ounce of fat. If he's fit, we've made a great deal.

I understand what you are stating but I think you have it wrong. Your attack plays into your defence in different ways. It's about taking the right option which isn't always the safest option.

I'm not a fan of Taylorball because it doesn't work. Taylor even recognised that and changed things around last season. We played a much more upbeat style of footy.

If you play Taylorball the opposition can just sit back and take it easy. If you throw the ball around all over the place then you are going to turn it over way too much and have to defence too much.

It's about finding the right balance. The constant harping on about all that matters is defence is delusional and the stats show that. The top teams have better attack - i.e. they score more points. Yes they also defend better. That is what you'd expect.

Thanks for clarifying.

I haven't read every post, but I've never seen one that says all that matters is defence, just that teams with good defence are more likely to win. Personally, I think (like Taylor) that it should be more of a focus for our team, just because we are already fairly gifted in attack.

Personally, part of what I love about being a Tigers supporter is our flair. Even when we are poor, there if normally something fantastic to entertain me.

dont feed the troll

I think the troll's bridge has been closed to traffic, so we won't have to read all the repetitive crap. Shame really as I enjoy the variety of opinion, but he just wouldn't let go of the bone/s.

It's exciting to look forward to a new player that had shown plenty of promise in the past

I guess we as a club that focuses on juniors will often be picking up players of experience with baggage of some sort

Idris about training. He looks confident. He speaks well about team culture.

Thanks for the link. just watch the interview.
Good to hear he is getting close to his PB's in the fitness tests.
He seem to have a bit of nervous energy about him, mostly positive. If can focus that energy in the right direction on the football field, he'll be a real handful.
He did mention he recently spoke to big crowds about Beyond Blue and was very nervous but is still getting used to public speaking again. He seem to take on the journo's a bit, like Jason Taylor does when he doesn't like the angle they are going with. I guess you have to do that a bit or you get misquoted.

I thought the same thing. As someone that also struggles with social anxiety, I feel like I could recognise him working hard to be comfortable in front of the journos at times. Good on him for keeping at it.

He looks good and sounds good. Not afraid to stand his ground when the journos and trying to push their own agenda.

Story in RLW today about how Idris bumped in to Shannon Ponton in a pub and he became his mentor and trainer, Ponton say's Idris is playing for all the right reasons, and is fit and he can see him playing rep footy next season.
