How did Matt Utai get lobbed into the has been basket? Geez he copped some unfair crap while he was here.

He was hot and cold, but I think he was playing park footy for Auburn prior to WT, so has been is probably correct.

When he came to us the game had evolved past him wingers needed to be able to field a high ball and he couldnt jump.He was also not very fast and opposition would run around him

Play him on the Left pushing Simona outside him on the Wing… Would be a devastating combination!

Looks like a predominantly right hand side player to me from these highlights…

Hope the title is apt...

Wow , what a highlights reel. Geez he can hit hard and is nimble for a big man.Welcome aboard.

Its obvious from those highlights coaches have been telling there players to get up on him early, but he just bounces them off., even Mattai.
Its got me excited.

If i was signing him i'd have signed him for a year with a year option in our favour with a financial incentive for the second year.

It looks like we've only signed him for a year, is that right? Shame there's not a club option in there - if he goes well he'll be off in 2018…

This guy will turn us around, an astute buy

Lets hope,as already mentioned his defence in the last year at Penrith was terrible, like King Kong grabbing at planes, anyway time will tell.

It would still be better than Kevie aimlessly running between players looking for intercepts and coming up empty all the time

If all goes well. I think moses and teddy will enjoy him in the side and could help with rentention also .

Moses has already come out and said how much he would like having the big guy next to him, but especially in the defensive line

Finally a threatening first man line runner option, no more sliding off onto Tedesco.

Good luck Kev….you tried your heart out, you will kill them in epl. One of the men who helped turn our club fiasco around after benji et al. Was our nearly best player in 2015, certainly our best recruit.

I'd he's going well that will probably mean he's happy with his footy. Given how he's felt about footy previously, he might chose to stay just for that reason.
Not trying to rain on your parade.

Pretty hard to get a bloke like that to agree to an option in the club's favour. What's in it for him? He's signed as a guy with a high ceiling that's being paid like a guy who's been out of the game for 18 months (bugger all). If he goes terribly he doesn't get another year. If he goes brilliantly the club exercise the option and his reward is another year of being paid like a pauper.

I suppose one way or the other we don't know what his actual contract is

If his footy is going well and he gets along with the others I can see him staying. He says he's playing for himself and he's excited about playing with the up and coming young players at WT. If he gels he might just decide to stay.

The other factor is we will have rolled Farah's contract over and might have some $$$'s to spend

He wouldn't be paid like a pauper though. The terms for 2018 would see him get an increase. Its incentive for him. It would be win-win for him and us.

Is this wishful thinking or has something been announced, i know there was news recently that they are shopping him around or an ESL club is chasing him and one other?

we honestly need to get rid of rankin. my backline for 2017:
1.Tedesco
2.Nofolouma
3.Idris
4.Simona
5.Naqiuma

I agree we have to get rid of Rankin, but Naiqama on the wing would be a disaster! If Justin Hunt is still with us, I would put him there instead and give him the goal kicking duties as well. It would balance out our backline nicely and he deserves it, imo. He was one of the best in the Intrust Super comp all year.

I dont think u need strike centres to be a force in this competition. You need strong centres who do their job with good finishing wingers and classy 1,6,7.

So i would go

1.Tedesco
2.Nofoaluma
3.Chee Kam/Heleta
4.Idris
5.Simona
