Gavet suffered a Lizfranc injury. It's essentially when bones in the 'middle foot' separate and can often occur if something heavy lands on the foot or if the foot is twisted awkwardly - his was the second category.

Assessment & op tomorrow!

Can be very serious but at this stage they're positive that his injury was at the lower end of the scale in terms of length of time for recovery.

…and for the suspicious fan it was a freak accident that happened at home, nothing untoward!!!

Oi!
Didnt you hear?
Its none of our business.

Why is the club not saying how the injury occurred?

If he dropped a brick on his foot then just say it. If we are asking questions on this forum, you can be sure that the press will be like a dog with bone if they get a with of something suspicious. Wake up Wests media, you want supporters to join and be a part of the club but you won't release information to the public and supporters, well you are just asking for controversy, even if there is nothing untoward the press will still make stuff up.

That is what you said - and I agree with it. But not everyone was of that opinion and its reasonable for him to address the wider community.

…is how all posts on here should be treated as.....

hey guys long time stalker first time posting
i saw groat at dan murphys the other day
foot in plaster and on crutches
i must say he has improved his body shape a lot over the season
upper body looks much more firm and toned
i think we will miss both these guys this season
it will be interesting to see if potter brings in a junior to cover them or look to signing one of the roosters rejects like takarangi
i was really looking forward to seeing gavet play, his aggression is something the forwards need, and the kid obviously has talent being scouted by Des, hopefully he can make the most of the season when he returns even if its only for a 10 games or so, enough to impress potter is the important part
