I don't know if there is a thread already about this guy,
But does anyone know if we are looking to sign him or heard any rumours about where this guy is heading or is he already signed up for another team?
I noticed on Instagram, that several Wests Tigers players started to 'follow' him which seemed a bit interesting.. any news?

There is a thread already about him here…. http://www.weststigersforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=15952&start=18&time=1355238264

Typically this thread would be locked but under the cricumstances with everything pointing to him being a part of this club now, I think this thread should be left open.

yep - definitely a prop which is good! I read his Wiki and he was NSW Cup prop of the year in 2011 and played his toyota cup ball for the warriors. could be a nice little pick up! he was behind a lot of blokes at the bulldogs so left his 2 year contract early.

James Gavet Has Offically Signed With Wests Tigers !

Yeh good news, we need back up in this possy….hope he cements a regular bench spot by the 2nd half of the year

hopefully he'll bring a bit of mongrel too seeing as sheens has trained the agression etc out of our forwards.

"He is looking to cement a first grade spot,’’ said Wests Tigers Recruitment Manager Warren McDonnell.

Well you'd hope so!!!

Good to see we only have on a one year deal in case he doesnt work out. Has a reputation of being a bit of a loose cannon.

Don't know anything about him but probably fills the Junior Moors void.

Hopefully he turns out to be a better player than Junior, but we all know he will go to a new level under Bellamy. Would hurt to see him flourish and Gavet prove to be nothing more than a reserve grader.

Now to find some footage of that R23 Broncs vs Dogs to see him in action.

Good luck to the young man.

Training should be interesting with so many players with relatively even chances of getting a bench spot in first grade. Players like Bell, BMM, Groat, Gavet, Semufangai, Nayavaro, Fotuaka, Buchanan, not to mention the swag of other NYC forwards. Surely competition for spots is our greatest motivator right now.

Another example of clueless strategic orientation :frowning:
Brainless, short term thinking, running around like headless chook :frowning:
They got rid of Moors, as 'we have enough props', than suddenly 'oh, we need another prop'.
"When will they ever learn? When will they ever learn?" :frowning:

Moors was another in a long line of players stuffed around by Sheens,he plays well we lose,he gets dropped while other non performers keep their spot,Moors never let us down,Melbourne got a good one, lets hope Gavet becomes our diamond in the rough.
At least Gavet will be given a fair crack by Potter, unlike his chances if Tim was still here.

Junior Moors contract with Melbourne was a better one than what Gavet was signed onto with the Tigers. Moors is expected to play first grade next year where Gavet needs to prove himself and hold his position in PL before he gets a look in at first grade.

The club has made some massive changes for next season, hopefully some of the fans can change too.
