So few minutes in a devastating 1st half.
No return to the field in the 2nd half.
No appearance at the post match press conference, as captain.
No explanation at all by Madge.
What's the story.

I think it’s just that he’s a dud

How exactly is he is a dud?

He played 28 mins...

19 tackles at 100%
68 meters

For 28 mins, those are strong stats. The coach not giving him more time is beyond stupid.

Glad you’re easily pleased!
Deadset plodder

Mate as much as we all respect your opinion Hobs,,,,Tamou was very, very tired having 12 other players on his back and he was carrying them while trying to make up ground the others lost....

I read somewhere that he wanted to change madges game plan during the game and at half time madge sprayed him.

Not sure if the truth but it was on hoops live chat thingy.

I'd be shocked if that was the case. Watching the game I didn't give us much chance in our comeback attempt but I was thinking that bringing Tamou on would slow our momentum. As an earlier post suggested, I just think we needed higher impact forwards. That's not a great endorsement of Tamou, but he's probably the last of our forwards you'd bring on when you're chasing a game. Tamou is a solid plodding running and a good but low impact tackler.

i said this in another post, a mate who has pretty good intel said Madge and Tamoa had a blow up in the shed at half time due to the game plan being all wrong, hence why he wasnt brought back on in the second half.

If true, you could probably hear it at the Memorial dunnies.

They are closed for renovation..

Aka: replacing the urinal lollies. Souths fans ate most of them back in 2004.

He’s not what we need imo
Should have retired

I think you mean they sucked them because without teeth they would be difficult to chew

I have posted previously on my concerns with Tamou. Initially i hoped he would lead the pack on the field especially in the consistent effort stakes. Now i am concerned he looks like he is struggling to keep up with the speed of the game. Madge just never got the leadership he wanted against the Cows so Mikaele and Uto were providing more value and go forward. Hopefully its a wake up call for Tamou.

I have never rated Tamou, and I dont know what anyone sees in him. But I certainly admit that when we signed him, I thought he might be the leader that we needed.

Now leaders aren't always those leading by example in the tackle and run stakes. Some of the best leaders stand back and encourage, direct, and spray when necessary. Cooper Cronk in the GF a few years back didnt do a single thing physically, but he steered everything like a coach on the field in the Under 6's.

I was hoping Tamou was going to be that person.

People can carry on about all these young blokes, Blore this, Musgrove that, Twal this, Stefano did that, this dudes a beast blah blah blah.

Not a single player in that team holds anyone else to account. Not one. As a consequence, 17 blokes are out there going in their own direction and doing their own thing. If Madge's game plan is crap, we follow it to the letter, that way he is accountable. We cant just go around doing our own thing. Each player tries as much as he wants to and thats all, nothing more. I dont think I have ever seen a team of players, from any team, that look like they are all wearing Stevie Wonder glasses and have no clue if someone is there right next to them, or 20 metres away.

Someone on this forum mentioned something about we only had 13 missed tackles on the weekend. Probably fact, but you cant have a missed tackle if there is a 10m gap between players who are not even close enough to touch the opposition as they walk briskly through the line. No one is gang tackling and bending backs and grinding their face in the dirt. No one. Its a game of OzTag and we stand there looking.....at something shiny outside the fence.

This team is full of complete wankers, to a man, that think they are not accountable.

I would not pay a single player in this current team. Even Daine Laurie who has shown glimpses of special, doesnt blow up and get angry like his life depends on it. He just hangs his head.

No one is showing leadership for players like Laurie to get a hold of. This is why, rightly or wrongly I suggested Josh McGuire in a recent post. That wont happen of course, but at least he blows up deluxe when things are going crap.

At the moment, no one is showing any passion.
