James Tedesco Signs with Roosters [Official]

I agree. All the talk from Tedesco has been about sticking together, being like Melbourne and taking pay cuts to e sure success. Woods bleeds orange and black. Howetcef fhe other 2 have always been about leaving it "to my manager" which means get me the best deal possible. If they have any loyalty, especially Moses, he owes us at least one more deal.

Remembering that a melbourne pay cut means getting rid of one of the player's 5 different contracts.

Not even 2017….........we're going to have months of this, him and Moses

I have a gut feeling Tedesco will make his mind up early, like wise Woods, but the other two could drag on till mid season 2018

Brooks grew up as a passionate Tigers fan, so I can see him staying with a reasonable deal. I think his family are Tigers supporters too.

Mitch however played for parra juniors, despite benny being his uncle. To me, Mitch is the one I can see going after the money. I really hope he doesn't…he has all the attributes to be a superstar.

No major player is signing anywhere until the 2018 CAP is finalised by the NRL. It would be bad business and its why everyone is off contract this year.

Penrith has signed all their young big guns. If we don't sign any of them before the start of the season I reckon we are going to have a horrible year with all the distractions.

I think your right , many players earlier thought the Cap level was a done deal

Now Grant is living on borrowed time

Any one see the comment that Robbie made in paper on weekend that he will most likely not be here in 2017 to talk Teddy around

lol he won't need to…there's a CEO who actually cares about Tedesco this time around who will offer him fair money. When he makes comments like that it makes me think he's not telling the story because of his love for the Tigers, but because Robbie just wants to remind anyone listening about how good HE is.

Zero Tackle Top 50 Predictions : Shock Move: The Roosters will get their man, signing James Tedesco on a four-year deal, freeing up cap space for the Tigers to re-sign Mitch Moses, Luke Brooks and Aaron Woods.

If the roosters take James Tedesco that would be an absolute dog act.. They've got their own potential superstar at fullback and they try and take one of our only stars.. Pretty much we lose tedesco and all this top 4 and stuff can be thrown out the window, because we will have to start again.

Another prediction was NSW to win the Origin series 2-1 with an Adam Reynolds FG separating the teams in Game 3..

Surely it's just media banter.

But it does raise the good question - if you had to choose between keeping one of
(a) Tedesco; or
(b) Broses+Woods
would you let Tedesco go?

I say NO, I think he is that important and I don't see another obvious star FB coming through. I think Tedesco has more star quality (is less easily replaced) than anyone else in our team.

But I just cannot see how Roosters could justify such a big spend when they've already got Latrell Mitchell on the books, plus Blake Ferguson. In fact I think they'd be mad to spend $1M on Tedesco when Mitchell looks a ready-made FB to me, just needs another year under his belt. Also that young Joseph Manu is coming on from NYC as a centre/fullback.

Copley, SKD, Ferguson, Latrell Mitchell, Joseph Manu, Michael Gordon, Kearey, Mitchell Pearce, JTS, Matterson, Connor Watson, Tupou, Jayden Nikorima - all these boys want to start in the backline and it's only 7 positions deep.

The club has already said Tedesco is their priority one so I really can not see them not having a real red hot shot at getting his signature. Pascoe has said that Teddy on and off the field is what our brand name is all about

The last 6 months the club has really gone out of its way to make Tedesco and to a lesser extent Moses, the faces of the club. If they walk, it won't just be on the field where the club feels it. It will be a PR disaster.

Gordon won't be there in 2018 and i've heard Copley is being shopped around. We always knew the Roosters were going to rear their ugly heads during this so we can't be too surprised. Lets just ride it out.

They have re-signed Cordner, JWH, Taukeiaho, Manu & added Keary and a few cheapies. How much room do they have under the cap?

As good as James is has he ever played a whole season without injury ?

Yea it is a lottery however i would be making sure we sign Tedesco and Moses. Woods and Brooks are replaceable if we can't sign them. Woods is a great clubman and may take unders to stay not sure about Brooks - may not even get any offers if he doesn't lift his game.

If you're looking for reasons to justify thinking it wouldn't be demoralizing losing him, it's not working.
