James Tedesco Signs with Roosters [Official]

Nostradamuses on this forum told us: 'our best players don't want to play for Taylor' and 'we just have to bring Cleary/Hasler/etc and they will stay for peanuts', apparently not so :blah

:roll :roll :roll :roll So Teddy wants to go and play with a winning team like the Roosters 32-8 down. :roll

An important aspect of any team is the spine, and we're not far off having that sorted for next year and beyond.

We've got our halfback Brooks on board, hopefully he'll now settle and focus on fulfilling his potential.

Liddle is our future hooker whose highly rated by many good judges, come next season he should be ready for regular NRL and possibly an 80 minute player.

Signing Tedesco is a priority and key component - he adds the dynamic x-factor to the team.

If Tedesco signs then we've got 3 out the 4 key positions sorted - and that's a great position to be in.

Then we've just need to find a five-eight, someone that will compliment the rest of the spine. This may take a season or two before we get the right one, so we can look for short term solutions until then.

With Cleary managing the cap and roster I am confident he'll build the right team and culture, and before you know it we've got a team competing in the finals.

The criticism of Teddy and Woods is laughable.Any player in the same situation would be considering their options.

Bird is considering his Widdop is considering his - and both clubs have expressed interest in keeping those players with good offers.
If either of them dumped their clubs and came to the WTs no one could give rats about their character. Just like other clubs will welcome Teddy and Woods.
The reaction by some on here is completely over the top.

They owe our club no more than any other player owes a club but they sure have endured alot more than most.

I understand what you're saying in that I think the forum can go over the top. But… the other difference with Bird and Widdop is that Bird was a Dragons junior who went to the Sharks and Widdop came through the Storm. Teddy and Woods are juniors we developed through our pathways with Wests and Balmain.

They don't care

And that is the sad reality…they simply don't care about the FANS, members, and anything to do with the WT...the only condition for them leaving the WT should be if we are paying massive unders....that is certainly not the case with Teddy or Woods and they still are non committal....They should be ashamed of how they are portraying themselves to the club and us fans

And if Teddy leaves us…I'd be putting Nofo back at #1...he runs the ball back very well and can catch a bomb....not to mention he'd be half the price of Teddy

Come on Teddy.

My tiger cubs love you. They all want to be Tedesco when playing in the yard.

Let's hope that continues otherwise they will be Rankins in the yard

Nothing wrong with being a Rankin in the yard,at least the guy trys and still respects the club and teamates

What makes you think Nofaoluma is staying…

Totally agree TT - if only we had a lot more with the same commitment.

I think Nofo is every bit as likely to leave as Teddy. Parramatta apparently after him.

Well if they get Moses, they would shift Gutherson to the wing.

Surely they wouldn't need nofoaluma if they get Moses

Yeah and really how would they afford both? Moses is at a premium and Nofa wouldn't come on a low deal either. Would be a stretch I'd think..

Well if they can't afford both then Gutherson is coming to WT

If he ends up signing with the roosters I will not watch another NRL game, forget about just following this club screw the NRL, it would prove the salary cap is rigged, and doesn't work and we just see rich clubs and news limited teams sign everybody cheating the cap with third party payments.

forge about our club being a basket case the NRL is a basket case and run by armatures, it's the only sport in the world where you can sign to another team for another season the following year it's pathetic

I think i'll be pretty close behind you.

If he's signed with the roosters so be it, no player is bigger than the club.
He's a Roosters fan is he not?

Anyway perhaps Gordon could be a handy replacement for a year if Teddy is going the other way, until we can sort out something more permanent would also solve the goal kicking situation.

The club may be better off re setting and starting again being held to ransom by 4 youngsters is no way to move forward.

As hard as it will be, maybe just don't watch/support Teddy?

And wait and see what Cleary can produce over the next little while, hopefully it will be well worth supporting…

I think we should just give up. Seriously. Every second story is a player being targeted by other clubs and we seem to be getting pillaged. We are going to lose Woods, Tedesco, Nofoaluma and Moses and in return we may have picked up Chris McQueen. Wow.

There's no point having a huge pot of money to spend if no-one wants to play for us. I feel sorry for Ivan Cleary - he's jumped aboard a sinking ship.
