James Tedesco Signs with Roosters [Official]

Everyone spunking their pants over that tackle on the line last night, if Jake Turbo hadn't chopped him down before he fell off him Tedesco wouldn't have stood a chance. Good on him for effecting the tackle and finishing it off but he would have been steamrolled if Turbo didn't do his bit.

He was outstanding, brilliant in defence and attack.
He is a huge loss to the club, will be he best fullback for the next decade. Teddy is the only key loss we have I don't rate Woods and Moses maybe a star or a dud.
Let's not start diminishing players because they are leaving fair dinkum.

he was good , can't deny that, but brilliant in defence he was not, the shocking miss on Guerra who you would hardly call a noted stepper was a shocker. terrible miss.

Lol it was a 2 on 1\. Dugan came from behind after the overlap was created. Just before this he saved 2 try scoring opportunities. His defense and positional awareness was exceptional.

SO WHERE THE HELL HAS THAT FORM BEEN FOR THE LAST 4-6 WEEKS, WITH THE TIGERS.
if he goes back to been a turnstile and running into dead ends this week end he needs to be dropped, and then see if he gets picked for the next 2 SOO.

I'll have to watch that moment again, from memory it was Guerra running straight at him, Guerra didn't dummy or look to anyone outside him, just simply stepped straight past him, Tedesco didn't even lay a hand on him. the other 2 try savers you refer to, are these the ones that without first contact made by jake t and morris, Tedesco would more than likely not have stopped trys. Yes he was good, best game for ages, but his defence was and still is questionable at times. if teddy was as good as you say, then maybe we should be signing Guerra.

Judging him as a loss to the club based on last night is like suggesting Olsen Filipana was a gun based on his performance in a kiwi jersey

Guerra is going to the Knights.

Guerra looked to his left, dummied and stepped. Watch it again.

It was a great play by Guerra, would've fooled many a fullback. Don't underestimate Guerra - he's been out of form a bit this season, but he is a very good player. I really hope we do sign him.

I've said many times that while they wear our jersets I will always support them. When they leave they will be just opposition players.

We know Tedesco and Woods are leaving and Moses has slready gone but I still believe that we will be overall a stringer side without them. This is based purely on the amount of money that was offered to the 'big 4'
Reportedly,
Tedesco - $1.2M pa
Woods - $900K pa
Moses - $950K pa
Brooks - $750K pa

Correct me if I'm wrong but the most we have paid for any of our new recruits is Reynolds on $720K in his last year I believe.

Reynolds is the top $$ of the recruits around that amount.

I think Brooks ended signing in for about $550k.

I completely agree that the squad will be much more balanced and a better squad across the park which will lead to more success (hopefully).

Reynolds is on $800k p.a., although less on the salary cap obviously. Teddy though is worth the $1.2 million. Moses and Woods, not so much.

Some valid points re Tedesco and some dribble here as well. You can't possibly compare the effort of any one of the blues players who happened to have an outstanding game at SOO level with their typical week in week out club performances. This arena is the pinnacle of league, with squillions watching and you would expect a quality player to be pumped and go out on the field more determined to make his mark.
As much as I'm devastated that Teddy made the choice to leave the WTs - I don't believe that hating him or bagging him out is justified. (Moses however is a different story). I also don't agree that he hasn't tried in his recent games - a matter of fact I think he has tried too much.
You are absolutely kidding yourself if you compare playing with the Tigers to playing with the team that rolled out last night for the Blues. Playing alongside those great players in a team with that much go forward and that many quality attacking options for the opposition to contain is vastly easier for him and he has the class to take advantage when the opportunities come.
As to his great D - I think he was a bit fortunate to have had the help he got in some of those key phases which made him look good, but no denying he seemed to read the kicks and position himself very well. Come on blokes - give credit where its due. He is a huge loss but that doesn't mean that there isn't another star waiting to shine for us. That's the great thing about it - looking back over the 50 years I have supported the Tigers I can think of many great players and I am sure they will keep on coming!

yep my bad, sorry about that. watched it again, and it was a good play by Guerra. think I'm just trying to downplay his involvement that way it won't hurt as much when his doing it as a rep from the roosters.

GOING ON UR FIGURES ABOVE WE WOULD HAVE OUTLAYED ABOUT, $3,800,000 for the 4.
now going on figures which we cant confirm, we have signed 6 players,

packer - $650
mautalio - $400
mcqueen - $350
reynolds -$750
lolohea -$400
brooks -$550
NOW THAT WORKS OUT AT $3,100,000
with the exception of teddy i think we have a much stronger side, plus we still have money to buy another, frontrower, backrower, and center, and a winger. things looking up.
