OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

Agreed. His best years were 05, 09-11. The only years he had a legit 7 alongside him.

So now Tim Moltzen (09) a Legit 7 as well?
😂😂😂

Lui played 5/8 his whole career to NRL... And mostly 5/8 for the 10 years after he left....
This insinuation he was a legit 7 because of a couple years here in NRL is kidding....

I just rewatched round 18 riff vs storm. Cogger was doing most of the kicking? Any other games where JL is the dominant half/kicking team into position?
I'm assuming this is going to be his role with us.

Nope. But if it's in relation to Brooks, Brooks has been very shit for a long period (not to justify all the criticism). Luai has been good and gets treated like he's the worst player in the NRL. He also is in the media for things outside of footy that shouldn't even be newsworthy
Nothing to do with Brooks... Someone else mentioned him.
I think you're highly exaggerating about Luai, who treats him like the worst player? (please don't say people on social media)

He's doing OK regardless and he's admitted he loves to prove people wrong

Pooper isn’t a fan. Has someone checked he still has a heart beat?
Be worthwhile to check on Blocker too while we’re at it.

People I talk to, the media, and obviously social media (not that it matters). Obviously the only opinions that matter to luai are his family, club and people he looks up to, but as you said he would use any motivation to better himself as a player and person

I think they're just different roles, I don't see Hughes getting the ball much more than Munster - If more at all?
Hughes kicks - But when something needs to happen, It goes to Munny....

You really reckon Ilias is gets the same ball at Souths than Cody?
Dunno about that man....

JT and Maloney were similar - 6 Quasy 7's (Keary is a bit like that as well)
Play both sides of the field and handle either role without much fuss...
At storm kicking wise it's about 70-30. Touches-wise between hughes and munster is 60-40. At Souths cody has a more dominant role especially linking up with Murray. Kicking wise it's probably around 55-45

I love reading how Lui was the 'dominant' half in those 2 years...
he was 3rd string to the Marshall and Farah show!!
Literally everyone back then knew that Benji played in the 6 jersey and Lui in the 7 ... but they played like the opposite.

Lui kicked and did the basics.
Benji & Farah show, for sure.

100% Robbie and Benji would’ve been calling the shots over Robert Lui.
You said dominant half. 1st receiver or a jersey with 7 on it doesn’t mean that.
Lui ran the team. B & R over ruled him a lot and created opportunities but he did the set by set running of the side.
As soon as he was flicked and they tried to do what he was doing, they fell into a shithole of despair that they could never get us back out of.

They definitely didn’t do the basics. Hence why we lost the final to the Warriors.
Yes, this is a good example.
They took over from Lui late in that game and cooked it because they were reactionary freaks rather than game managers. That game should have been shut down. It wasn’t because the B&R show took over from the real game manager and stuffed it up going for glory. This allowed the Warriors the chance for a Hail Mary and it worked.
Bloody Ivan got another one over us…

Muffed the Dragons semi worse, at the warriors game you could feel the momentum change after they started coming for us… rowdy or lote puts a finger on inu instead of spectating and we get away with it…
The dragons game - we had so much ball down their end and couldn’t capitalise… that grubber down Boyd’s throat in goal only to let him out still turns my stomach… All that time down there and couldn’t clutch it - as soon as they got within range… game over

The 20-21 year old NRL ‘game manager’ apparently…
Biggest load of BS ever!!

It’s not an insinuation. He might’ve had a CCM level grand final performance on his numbers tracked in the #7.

We just bottled it badly and Heighno can’t feed a scrum

Tell us why instead of sooking on every post.
Benji and Robbie never learned how to manage a game of footy until they both left this club and saw how it should be done elsewhere.
Lui got it. If he could have handled his piss a bit better and kept his hands to himself, we may have managed another premiership with him.

Back then, Benji and Robbie couldn't agree on who was the boss.

Gibbs went off with a knee injury in the Warriors game resulted in them losing the middle.
