I think he will be great for everyone in the team. Api has been a great signing and strikes me as someone who works hard but is more quiet and tries to lead by example. Whereas Luai seems like someone who will give a rev up to anyone showing any laziness and will make everyone work harder even if he has to drag them to it kicking and screaming. I think his influence on what Penrith have achieved over the past few years really can't be understated.

Yep. Especially considering he dropped the ball at the start of the game after DCE rushed him and then gave him a bake. Him and DCE were going at it all game. To set up the match winner at suncorp in a decider shows his resilience and calm under pressure. Some of our fans might be sceptical of his ability to turn around the club on his own which is justified, but you can't deny that he isn't worth that money especially given the rise in salary cap. I think 1.2 million is a bargain given his achievements (without Cleary he's won this series and taken samoa to a world cup final)

He played a beautiful game tonight. Out of all the halves NSW tried in the last 2 or 3 series he now looks the most consistent and comfortable

2 series wins. One of them the biggest ever NSW wins over QLD in 2021 when all games were in QLD, 50-6 and 26-0. Then winning a decider in suncorp setting up the match winner

I was happy as anyone when Luai signed. I also massively overestimated the ability of the existing roster, particularly the forward pack. Luai will be great, but more signings and movement of deadwood are required otherwise look for another grim year

I’m cautiously optimistic on Luai maintaining his form when he comes next year. We have a history of putting weights in players’ saddles.

We only need some forwards that can dominate the opposition to give the halves room to work with, and then some big fast strong backs to finish it all off

Therein lies the issue,
Luai plays best off the back of a go forward pack ie Fisher - Harris, Leota, Martin, Sorensen, Yeoh and as of right now, apart from maybe Pole/ Lainu going forward, the rest of our lot are real plodders.
We need to correct that very early on, otherwise Luai will be so easy to read he’ll get swamped and become ineffective.
