Today he was a better earlier in sets but still not there with last tackle plays and kicking game in general. If you weren't 5 times more nervous during his hia you sure are more staunch than I am.

I'll remind everyone that today we equalled our wins from 2022 and 2023 in round 8, so panicking about Luai seems premature at this stage (althoughI get why) . The team just wouldn't have improved this much without him imo. Having said that we could do even better when he gives some Penrith form.

Love what he brings to the team. Leadership is critical to any teams success and he brings it in spades

He might not be giving us DCE, Cleary type performances at this stage, but what he is giving us is a real hard nosed competitor who is pushing everyone in the team. He will get better and better as the season rolls on

He might not be earning his money in attack atm but he’s certainly earning it in defence imo… shows the attitude, effort & determination is there. Still have to remember he’s only been at the club for 7 games now after being at Penrith for over 10 years.

I agree that he hasn't really turned it on this year yet. Really hope he gels better with Latu. From what I have seen of him, Latu seems like much more of a smooth operator than Galvin, which I reckon will work better with Luai's frenetic style.

He showed early in the first half he has a good long kicking game in him, really good chase from the boys too. Need to see more of that though as well as taking the majority of the last tackle options. His defence has been great & it’s clearly rubbing off on the team.

I mentioned on the live thread that behind the posts he is a huge talker and brings everyone together. It's not just after tries but all the time. Without him they looked flat and directionless, not really sure where to look. I also think we are underestimating his production. I think his passing is sharp and he is involved in a lot. I don't think our kicking game is very good, and so I wish he took more control of that. I'm not sure why that hasn't happened yet. But I look around the league and there are very few halves I'd prefer.

Weidler on 100 footy was hinting that Luai had other issues at the tigers (but didn't think he had any issues with Galvin leaving).

Anyone have Intel on what this could be?

Weedler is a mouthpiece for I Moses. Would take everything he says with a grain of salt.

He honestly is doing a fantastic job, we are 4/7 with him in the team, two of those losses by 2 points

No doubt that the team is better with him in it.

He will be in there, but even if the team has a 50% win rate with him playing the way he has, it will still be a successful signing.

But just coz we are winning a few games, I hope the biggest weakness in our team which is opp 20 attack and 5th tackle options don't get ignored.

1.2mil a year for him based on strictly footballing was never going be a good deal. But if he works out as a leader and gets the players to give 110%, then it could be worth it.

Doesn’t he have the best win/loss % in the game atm? Better than Cleary?

Hughes, Cleary, Moses, maybe DCE are the only halves who could be better than him IMO

i haven't noticed Jarome being vocal in the game ,most direction seems to come from Api . I did like today J L slide across to galvins preferred side to put a few better placed kicks in then precious would have ,considering how tight the game was late in the day

If brown is worth 1.2 then Luai is a bargain

Adam Reynolds produced a masterclass the other nite,and DCE not far behind
Genuine no 7s..which I dont think our guy is
But I credit him predominantly with changing the culture of this side and putting us in a position to win,even if he doesnt have the line breaks/try assists etc.
He has the steely edge and influence that is missing from even Api and Benji,as good as they are/were
Just ask the Panthers what theyre missing...
