OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

Prior to the Luai signing I remember thinking to myself Luai was the player the Panthers would miss the least. Once he signed with us, my tune changed simply because he was a tiger.

I think Benji needs to sort out plenty regarding his utilisation of all 3 front spine members and even moreso now that he has brought Doueihi into the lock role. Taking Latu off late in yesterday's match would not have been my choice.
Benji ran out of ideas. we have no kicking game whatso ever we could not pin them in, our ability as a collective unit to pass and draw has not develop at all this year.

I can't recall the exact game, but tigers played vs one of the top teams, and I recall the referee calling held VERY early and allowing the opposition to get VERY quick play the balls, resulting in a ridiculous amount of momentum.. comes back again to referees "interpreting the rules"
I think the 6 again rule is a much more powerful tool in deciding outcomes, particularly in the red zone. Hardly any defence stands up to a 2nd '6 again' in the red zone. Its like a left right 1 2 from a young Tyson.
Its such a momentum changer and yet we have no serious statistics.

So true champion @twentyforty - just watch any game and Voila! The 6 again invariably leads to pressure via momentum and more times than not, a try.
The scoreboard favors the possession.

Sorry that is not correct, the blame is the coaching staff and lack of skills and development.

TO, if we shine a light on our 3 biggest ruck infringers Terrell May, Jerome Luai and Alex Seyfarth, who account for 21 times we were penalised. There’s no way of knowing how many of those infringements resulted in points? Or the field location? Coaches would have that information no doubt.
What we do know is that the referee has the option to see these infringements, like Kliene did a few seasons ago when we were 10mts out from our line, with the clock winding down and he saw an incorrect PTB, awarding a penalty to Broncos , giving them a 1 point win.
OK, our player wasn’t exactly at 90deg, he would have been probably at 85deg.

The 6 again allows the Ref to alter the outcome of the game without the microscope.

most have played the game since they were 8 yrs old, how they don;t get the machinations of a game being professionals , ?????? wtf

No they all obviously know it but I would be surprised if the Bulldogs for example haven't trained harder and smarter on the wrestle, slowing the ruck down, line speed and so on.

However, they do have a better squad to become very good at these aspects of the game

So we are behind on two fronts

Bulldogs have a coach who was involved with Penrith while they won comps , he knows what is required from players and also what is needed to be trained to win , fit to win , we are none of these , we look like we are not coached , not fit , confused ,

Luai is being singled out because he's an easy target being the highest paid player.

Api and Luai are both struggling. Terrell has now come back to the pack after dominating in his first few games. Pole, To'a, Samuela, Royce, Skelton, Staines are all down on form. It's a matter of time before this happens to Turuva and Taylan.

Part of this is because we're losing all the time, but the other part is the standards are not there. I think this is down to coaching but Richo is a lot closer and I'm sure he knows the issue.

People keep talking about our crap roster but it is much better than the Dragons and Flanagan seems to have them competing in most matches.

110% correct in this statement.

It is not much better than the Dragons!
In fact only Luai, Api, May would displace the current Dragons players in their positions. (50-50 with Api and Cook in my opinion).

Goes with the territory with a lack of depth. A lot of our players are underdone with niggles and fitness, well into a very long season, once again plagued by poor results and drama.

Opposition sides are starting to peak for finals or trying to make them.

Was always going to be a tough run home. Without that lucky win against titans, we would be guaranteed of 4th straight spoon. I think we are still relying on other results going our way to avoid it.

They are spine players though. IMO Bula is better than Gutherson and I think Turuva, Taylan, To’a (pre-injury) are all better than the St George players in that position.

I’ll give you the Dragons forwards are mostly better.
