I don't know how many times it needs to be repeated, but only a moron would remove the clauses (without financial gain) given the history of this club..

Take your rose coloured glasses off for a second. If you were an investor buying shares in a company, the tigers are far from a blue chip stock. The dysfunction of HBG is like a reality tv show that keeps on giving. You'd be nuts to put it all on the line if you don't have to.

He can love the club and love the vision... But that doesn't mean some numpty doesn't come along and screw it all up overnight again... In which case, he has the right to leave, because that's not what he signed up for

The unfortunate reality as much as it pains to say.
I think he will stay however- Luai that is. As for Bula, I’m less sure.
 
Still think Bulla , Mosses and Gus could be up to something , Would not shock me at all with Mosses and I heard Braith on triple M say Gus and Mosses are great friends so you have 2 grubs working together and a young man getting guided by Mosses = Money and Gus = Con man , young man got no hope to think straight ,
Bulla for me = 3 year deal at $ 750 club option for year 4

That makes perfect sense from his perspective.
We aren’t talking from that position, we are talking from ours.

The club just hiked my membership by 45% and I signed up during the 3 spoons. Where's the loyalty and appreciation for listening to the call when Richo wanted memberships? I was Richos biggest fan, this has left a stale taste in my mouth. They have no touch with the every day folk trying to live in Sydney, let alone pay for an over priced tigers membership (compared to the eels, dogs and panthers).

Maybe I just cut the membership, the more I think about it the dirtier I am.

There are 5 perspectives.
  1. The administration who work in the shadows and only feed positive information. They are self serving to the point that their strategic goals and therefore world view are concentrated on the financial side of the club.
  2. The sponsors who pay for a lot of the clubs enterprises. They are looking for networking and professional status opportunities, whilst also caring about results that may lead to embarrassment socially.
  3. The coaching staff who are the ones most accountable for results. Most of their decisions are self serving to keep themselves employed. They manage both up and down to save their arses.
  4. The players who are all contractors trying to get their best deal. They show loyalty when they are looked after but you must remember that their loyalty is bought by the administraction and paid for by the sponsors. They are fickle.
  5. The fans who pay for the rest of the clubs expenses after the sponsors. This group are the ones who truly care about the club. Historically, loud but mostly voiceless, however now capable through the rise of social media of mobilising and enacting change. The first 4 groups tolerate their perspectives due to some level of fear but generally, don’t really respect them.
So no I don’t have the same perspective as Luai or Bula etc…
What you said about the memberships ties into the perspective hierarchy I mentioned above.
 
I thought Samoa struggled with direction. Talagi and Luai are 6s and neither of them are that good at 7 (despite Luai stepping up at Penrith when Cleary was injured).

It was interesting to hear Cleary on Mays podcast talking about how Jarome was THE GUY coming up through the junior ranks... He's obviously an incredibly talented player. Can only hope that having some consistency next year with Douhei at 7 helps Luais game

totally agree Tucker!!! i know im going to cop it for this but im sort of hoping he doesnt activate his clause cause he has not done a lot to impress me. Yes the culture has improved out of site and Im sure he is a big factor for that. However on the field he has done very little, i could count on one hand this year he has taken the game on himself.

Agreed. 1.2 million buying better players for 2027, I've said it time and time again he is playing at 50% off
 
I think that Jarome found it really hard to lead us in what was a very different system from his time at the Panthers, winners are grinners, and winning is often a snowball that keeps on growing, adversity is often difficult but resilience is the key, now that Galvin‑Gate is over I predict him having a cracking 2026 season.

I thought he played pretty well in a team that started strongly but ran out of steam and got man handled at the end. He had some individual bright moments, threw a poor pass, missed a tough tackle on Erin Clarke, but talked and directed his team well. Showed up in D all over the paddock often. Got a couple of poor calls.
Kiwi pack are awesome and ground their way over the top of the Samoans dominating possession in the second half. That made it harder for the halves.
Can’t agree with the comment that he was totally outclassed by Foran.
 
We already have a few $1.2m+ players in the NRL, but the future stars who I think could reach that mark are Jonah Pezet, Latu Fainu, and Hugo Savala.

All are young rising stars, and if they can fully own their halves roles, they could be part of the next wave of future champions. Marky Mark will probably return to rugby for good, but I could see him becoming a near million dollar winger if he stays, he’s that good. I can also see Terrell May developing into a better player than Haas over the next couple of years.
