It certainly does. And as it’s been mentioned a few times, we can be successful without him and I bare no grudges and thats great for him. Hypothetically we are in trouble if 3-4 players go with him +Bula (Perth or dogs).

They could just as easy all turn around and sign for unders long term here but that’s not the wests tigers way 🤣

When I used to travel to PNG regularly there was a regular flight from Cairns to POM and many executives had their families based over there, and as it was about a 1.5 flight it was an easy commute.
I just watched that interview with Weidler who said JL and his wife went and were given a comprehensive visit to all the relevant places, including the old Airport Hotel where they are creating a secure compound. They also met with the PM up there who is super keen for this to be a huge success.
It’s a massive move, especially for a young Samoan woman and her kids, so I’d say that, not the footy side, is where it will be won or lost. Also V Landys may be prepared to offer some under the table extras to make it happen.
On the other hand, Perth would be a super place to live with a young family.
But nothing from them so far !

Personally , I would hate to lose about 5 other guys than Luai … As I said elsewhere ..Twal and AD have signed for unders considering the way they are playing … I would be surprised if those others do..

Best thing to do is recruit a couple of externals or at least put our interest out there in the press, put some fear into the incumbents....show them we are not waiting around.

In a funny way I hope Luai goes to PNG in 2028….it gives us plenty of cash to splash on retaining the Mays and Fainus. It provides a clear pathway for Latu to take over the 6 in 2028…Madden will still be here…Luai has done his job shifting our culture…we have proven we can win without him.im not the least worried if he goes…he will be treated like a rock star in PNG…his ego has already signed up

One has to ask why did he have to go over there now, he could of triggered the option for next year and checked the place out over the off season.

Instead he creates all this media attention that the team doesn't need right now.

Media beat up, ok so he signs for the Chiefs for 2028.......ok and? He signed with us and still managed to win a premiership at the Panthers after telling the club and team he was going, he doesn't seem to be the type of guy to do a Moses.

I think the halves playing group depth at the Tigers is more balanced than in recent history. Luai, AD, Madden, Latu, Javon. We had the Galvin distraction, the Large Bros and even the dude that went to Canterbury, Alex Conti vying for KOE Cup spots. You can't fit them all in folks. Luai was injured and was out for a few weeks. We were undefeated during his absence, thanks in some great part to the Madden/Douehi partnership. I'm hoping Luai stays cos he can be the energiser bunny at the club when he retires in 2028. That knee injury worried him and he was simply looking at options to cash in. Benji knows it and Luai even told him to bring him back thru Reggies. Tigers will win convincingly this year and be the destination club for years to come. Long Live Benji. Bedtime. Well, the cask is empty. 😂 🐯🍻

Luai had a serious injury and was out for 3 weeks. He ain't getting any younger. He is a champion and I reckon he and Benji are already talking succession coaching plans. The PNG trip was to test the Waters. It's not as if PNG don't know how to Head Hunt!
