I’d say most of the people interested in r360for the money will go as well, so I reckon paps will play fullback and lomax on the wing, Connor Watson at 9/13

You can't tell me that he will not be absorbed by this next challenge. This is a major life change with the weight of a country of supporters relying on him to bring them a level of success and some players with him.
Can't stop him from trying to influence his mates to go with him but paying him 1, 2 mill possibly to our detriment..good bloke he may be.

We will have to see how it turns out .. personally I’m not concerned that he won’t give his best here …His performances on the field have been patchy at best this year though…

He has already taken up the option for 2027 with us … so it is what it is and I’ll hope he is a shining light over the next 18 months

They can now talk to players off contract end of this year .,Luai’s clauses meant technically he was off contract

Johnson had a special clause in his contract that he could join PNG if they came in the comp
 
Not even gonna lie I hardly care this guy is leaving.

I know this guy is meant to be our big ticket marquee captain guy and whatever and sure it isn’t great that he’s leaving and it would be great if he did stay the 5 years.

But I don’t think anyone can say that he’s been worth $1.2mil on the field and all this is doing is going to free a VERY LARGE chunk of salary cap from 2028 onwards.

And it actually solves some big issues around resigning players like Madden and Latu Fainu who now have very clear paths to first grade and can renegotiate contract extension before November 1 with much clearer expectations of their future roles in the team.

I do really like Luai and think he’s brought a lot of good stuff to the team and am disappointed he’s made this decision given everything else he has said, but the reality is this PNG thing will be absolutely life-changing for him and his family given how much extra stuff has been provided to them to make them succeed (rip Perth bears fans btw).

Luai is big on family and providing for his children. People forget while professional sportsmen are on sometimes really big contracts they only have them for 10-15 years so they really need to capitalise on all opportunities. I also commend him for doing this quickly and not dragging it out like other contract negotiations in the past.

Luai’s contract allowed him to negotiate and sign before the end of this month.
Our current team with ever increasing contract increase demands from each individual player would have been well and truly ripped apart by 2028 if Luai had stayed as we simply would not have had enough salary cap space to keep them all.
By Luai departing it allows us to offer increased wages to each player we are wanting to keep long term which will hopefully mean we keep most if not all of them.

Still though, I’ve never heard of a player signing for another club, nearly 2 years in advance. Luai hasn’t even reached the halfway point of the three years he will spend here.

It’s an absolute rort about the nov 1 rule, poor old Perth will get smashed ever week and these guys get double the salary cap, I think PVL is playing a dangerous game tho, any drama in the compound and the place will be a nightmare, or worse it will only take one person to rob it or anything like that and his plan goes tits up

Dangerous game ? The drama only adds to the story ..

I also doubt some robber is getting near tne joint …
