OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - Official

I wouldn’t be writing off Turbo just yet.
Him and Mitchell play last year and NSW win… without a doubt.
Turbo at centre. Maybe. Fullback? No way. He gets injured far too much. Too big a risk. It cost us the series last year

Still buzzing. Such a monumental signing
4 our club. Every1 should go up a gear now
moving into 2025, and we'll be taken more
seriously in the player transfer market too.
The face of the West will be a Wests Tiger

Dogs fan's will be no doubt throwing out the usual lines we're used to pumping out. Dodged a bullet, not worth the money, we didnt actually want him we were pushing up the price ect ect
Yeah if the 1.2 milla year inlcuded 200-300k TPAS then it isnt a bad deal money wise.

But they and other teams.supporters will just say we overpaid an average player.

Stuff em. If we get 2-3.more decent players in the backline in 25 then they will be looking at this team above them on the ladder.

Honestly we had to be prepared to pay overs to get a big name player here, hell we have to pay overs to get a second rate player here. I think he is a huge signing for the club & one we desperately needed, talent attracts talent. He is hopefully the signing that helps us turn the corner & makes other talented players take notice of the club & consider joining us & not just using us to drive their price up.
If the Sheens comment about the main domino that he wanted to fall was about Luai instead of a well and truly past his best Bateman, then It probably would have been much more believable.

Why do you think it has 200k+ in TPAs? We've traditionally struggled to have that much across our whole squad, seems highly unlikely that there was suddenly a small fortune of TPAs there to allocate to just Luai. As a mounty boy and the face of Penrith the last few years surely he would attract more TPAs there than here.
Richo just said our offer was clearly the highest. So whilst that doesn't strictly rule out the existence of TPAs it does suggest that the full salary is on the cap and probably close to what has been reported.

Sorry, how’d I miss this doozy. ”Our best footy”. We’ve won sgout 10 games in two years 😂
Some people on here make me laugh.

We have won 8 games in the last 2 seasons and people saying we should play at Leichhardt because that's where we play our best football, what a joke.

Of the last 8 games that we have won in the last 2 seasons, the wins have been:
  • 3 wins at Commbank - Parramatta, Souffs & Dolphins
  • 2 wins at Leichhardt - Dogs & Cows
  • 2 wins at Suncorp - Broncos & St.George
  • 1 win at Bathurst - The 'Riff (who experts consider to be the best team in recent times)
Of the 2 wins at Leichhardt, 1 was against a cellar dwelling Bulldogs and the other was what most people consider to be an absolute outlier against the Cowboys which to this very day no one can really explain.

Funnily enough, most of the other wins which were either at Commbank, where incidentally no one wants us to play because it's Parramatta's home ground and could never be considered a home ground for us, and the other wins were at grounds a long way away from anything we would ever consider calling a home ground.

Another Funny thing is that those wins at grounds that could never be considered our home grounds or Wests Tigers strongholds were against some fairly highly rated opposition.

Although we had no wins from the 6 games that were played at Campbelltown, 4 of the losses were by margins of between 1 and 6 points.

What sort of conclusions can you draw from this;
  • Leichhardt Oval, given all it's charm, history and sentimental attraction is far from being a strong hold for Wests Tigers when it comes to winning games.
  • There is an argument for CSS or somewhere in the South West as the future for Wests Tigers when you look at the population expansion that is going on and the size of the juniors talent pool that is out there.
Finally;

If you are good enough you can win anywhere and if you win they will come.

We hVe struggled but i cant imagine a high profile player like him not being able to atttact sponsors who can put forward a TPA. If they have put all of his salary on the cap then they havnt done their job properly.

The jury on Marshall as a tactician is still out, but as far as a man manager is concerned, he looks like a 10/10. Not only a charismatic player, but a charismatic personality.
Man management is an important means to an end ie.understanding and extracting the best from your team, not an end unto itself.
How effective he is will be measured by results, as it should be !

Yeah you cant have 5 home grounds and expect to win. The whole routines are out of wack. Might only cost you a couple of games but thats the difference between top 8 amd bottom.

Think qe should go all in at Cambeltown. Play their apart from 3 games at Leichardt.

Thanks for your feedback, what about all in at Leichhardt and play 3 in Dodge City.
Only kidding, life was simple when our team(s) had one ground eh.
Does anyone have stats on Dragons between Kogarah and the Gong ? Just a point of comparison that might make interesting reading.
