Very little to no chance that Luai is at Wests next year, Penrith do not release players early.
Luai imo is very different from any other player they've lost because of his polarising and opinionated nature. Also the fact he is a crucial part of their spine. They might not want the drama surrounding his departure or the affects it might have on him to affect their season.

While it is a high chance he does his shoulder again in the future, every single player is under an injury cloud. The money to bring his on field performances isn't the only thing he brings, when he is injured he will be a great mentor to the young halves and a great culture guy
I’d say 80% of footy players get their shoulders strapped due to pre-existing injuries of varying severity. Occupational hazard.

A lot of psycho analysts specialising in Phil Gould’s thoughts and motivations roaming around atm.
A few people who’ve forgotten that marquee players have a penchant for using WT to drive up their asking price too. I thought from reading this forum that you couldn’t believe the journo’s, now everyone is taking the signing news as gospel 🤦🏽‍♂️

Barring the headlines, I was told Luai won’t be released early - could be wrong but my source seems pretty confident about it and he was confident Luai was coming to begin with so might be onto something. I’m catching up with him sometime in the next few days so will try get more from him on what’s happening so I can share on here.

Personally don’t think that’s a bad thing, another year in that system next to Nathan will improve his game too. Whilst, it gives us this year to work out who’s gonna partner him in 2025 and gives our Halves depth the opportunity to audition themselves. I also think people are underestimating what Sullivan could potentially do fully confident at 7 this year. He could be anything tbh. Good problems to have.
