Apparently Daine Laurey has been getting around Penrith area telling people he will be starting 5/8 next season. My nephew is right into his bikes and scooters and has hit jumps with him abit he and a few of his friends have told me the same thing. It might just be him being confident he can out play luai or could mean the end of luai as a panther take it as U please 🤔
Have heard similar recently. The Panthers really like Laurie so it’s unsurprising.

News coming out of Penrith is that they signed Daine solely to get him ready for when Luai leaves.

Jerome's social media antics have worn thin at the club including the higher ups.

The latest Naurto "know your worth" instagram story was potentially the last straw for Jerome
If that’s the case, he’s not going to suddenly become a nice humble guy at our club, especially coming off winning 3 premierships and potentially being the highest paid player in the game. His ego will be out of control. I wouldn’t be surprised if his personality prevents him from ever playing for NSW again. He’s always going to be dislikable, even if he does come here. It would be interesting to see how his personality copes at a struggling club. He’s just as likely to sulk and angle for a way out. As desperate as we are for a half, it would not be the worst thing in the world if he took another club’s money. I definitely won’t be upset about it.

Agreed. He will be disruptive here and likely cause a lot of drama behind the scenes.

It's all about the coach.. let's see if benji can ram some humility and unity in him.. that's what makes Bennett such a great coach.. getting the best out of a player.. who knows, a new club/atmosphere/mid twenties..he might turn into a leader

A lot of amateur psychologists here putting the pen through Luai

He’s a great player and seems a very solid family man, so that’s a couple of big ticks for me and plenty to build a successful career with WT on
His ability isn’t in question, it’s his personality. If the strongest club in the game can’t deal with him, what chance does our circus have?

I doubt Bennett would have a bar of him.

I don't get this. We are paying him to perform on the field and to not do anything really dumb off the field. I don't care if he is arrogant if he performs for us.

Api has done dumb stuff off the field. He has gotten in trouble in rep teams and he has been let go from plenty of teams. Api was clearly our best player last year as well.

I really don't care however I care a lot about how well he plays for us if he comes here.
I agree, but if he did come here to us, a struggling club, he would have the pressure of being the chief play maker, and I haven't forgotten about Api, but with our well known history of not having controlling halves, the majority of the pressure would be on him to turn things around.

This is one of the reasons that Latrine used as an excuse to not come here and it would be interesting to see how he coped with that pressure, I don't think Latrine would have coped with it all that well.

In fairness to Luai. How tough would it be playing for a club that is most likely to come last?

Mindset wise, that's a huge ask. Particularly as Penrith seems to be a very tight nit group.

Somehow Ricky kept spirits high as Cronulla was coming last. Anthony Tupou basically said he loved playing there. Benji may be doing something right as only Laurie really wanted to leave.

I think Latrell just stated something dumb to explain away his position. I think he has a lot of pressure on him at Souths as well. Look at all the press last season.

I honestly think if they have the ability they'll be fine. The question is do they have the ability.

I'll go back to the NBA. Lots of players can be clutch but someone like Ben Simmons has an attitude problem that holds him back. There are very few Ben Simmons in the league. It's like the temperament to handle the pressure is common but the ability to not handle is very unusual.

I don't agree with this one either. They are professional footy players and they should have confidence in their ability. I can't see Luai stating he doesn't want the challenge along with a massive pay packet. The challenge should be something positive.

Matches up with what I've been hearing, except I understood the "know your worth" came when he'd already agreed in principle to come here, it was a parting "up yours" knowing he was out the door.
